Cat

The next morning I woke up early. The sun hadn't risen yet. I woke up as I heard a sudden noise. The sound of metal and plastic bags hitting the floor outside, followed by a scared screeching of a cat. Oh, it's the cat. Curiously, I stood up and sneaked to the door, opening it slowly. I peeked outside. There it was. The cat. It seemed to have its paw stuck in between a rubbish can and a plastic bag. The trash was all over the floor, surrounding the now even dirtier cat.

"Psst."

His eyes widened. He meowed angrily, hissing. His back arched up, his fur looked like it was electrified.

"Hey." I whispered.

The cat flicked his tail in the air. It hissed again.

I slowly kneeled next to him. He just hissed even more angrily, showing his fangs. His other free paw stretched out his claws. I tried to reach to him with my hand. He slapped it away, leaving a scratch mark on my hand.

"Shhh, I won't do anything, I promise."

More hissing.

I again reached to his stuck paw and the trahs bin. This time he bit me. I didn't take my hand away. It hurt. I felt how the warm blood was already smearing on my skin. I didn't give up, pushed the trash bin back, away from the cats paw. Now the only thing in the way was the plastic bag. The cat kept on biting and scratching angrily, his feet kicking around towards me, trying to push me away. With a sharp tug, the plastic bag tore, and the cat yanked his paw free and I let him go. He jumped high in the air, to the wall and then pushed himself back to the street. He turned to the side, still angry and hissing. His eyes not leaving my spot. He licked the blood away from his snout, cleaning it. My arm hurt a bit. But that was fine. At least he's free now.

The cats eyes never left me, his glare following me as I walked back home. The sun was finally setting into the sky, the moon and the stars slowly vanishing, welcoming the light emerge from the darkness. I walked to the bathroom, where I first washed my hand and bloody arms, before I cleaned the small scratches with disinfectant and then put plasters on them. After that I heard a noise of someone waking up. It was Dabi. I walked out the room and I found him stretching his arms out and yawning.
