After they all ate, Thomas had thrown away the wrappers and coffee cups before settling behind his desk again. He realized he had to take charge of this case seeing that William was unfit of leading at the moment. That and he had asked the Chief the previous day if he could take lead and his boss, Chief Gibson, had given him a thumbs up.

Thomas had done his research yesterday and was prepared for today's briefing. Thomas cleared his throat and took out a folder marked 'Syflocyl Case'

"As you two are aware, we have joined forces with Norway's Crime Squad to track down the producers of the Syflocyl drug and stop their little organization. Bjarne Møller, the Head of the Crime Squad back in Oslo, has sent me five reports from victims who overdosed on a mysterious drug, which has been identified as Syflocyl. The only reason he has sent this information to me, is because they tracked down a Syflocyl dealer in the city and he sang like a yellow canary. He got his shipment from the USA, specifically New York. New York is a pretty big state, so we had to pin point the exact location of where it has been sent from, and low and behold, it was from Brooklyn. Coincidentally, a few cases have popped up as well here in Brooklyn, four victims plus a fifth in the hospital.

"But first, what is this drug? The word Syflocyl, comes from the word Psychotic and Floating. The drug puts its users into a subconscious state in which they feel like their floating. They lose control of their body and feel like they're experiencing an outer body experience, when in reality they are not. It can also put its users in a fit of rage causing them to lash out. According to the labs, this drug is on the same level as cocaine and is very dangerous. It's easy to overdose on if you don't know how it works. The labs are still unsure of how the drug is made and we won't know much more until we get an actual sample of the drug.

"Secondly, it seems that all the victims have been teenagers or young adults who liked clubbing, which means that the drug might be handed out at clubs for experimentation. We've located the clubs the victims had visited before passing away and will go to gather more information from the owners and bartenders, which you'll sit in with Harry.

"Lastly, the Chief has given me the green light of leading the case. I understand that I'm younger than both of you, which means I'm not as experienced as you guys. This is why we're working together. But please, and this is more aimed at William, do not go off on your own without telling me about your plans. Got it?"
Lockwood grunted and rolled his eyes. "Fine, I'll be a good boy."
Thomas smiled. "Wonderful. I think that concludes the meeting. Any questions?"

"What do we do first?" Harry asked, feeling determined.
"We're going to go sniff around the clubs for information. Detective Lockwood will stay here as punishment for coming to work hangover and he'll start writing up a nice summary of the case. Isn't that right, Lockwood?"

Lockwood glared at Thomas. "You're a very, very bad man."
Thomas shrugged. "Lay off the Jack Daniels for a while and I'll be as sweet as Cotton Candy."
"More like Jolly Ranchers. Hard to chew and get stuck between your teeth."
Thomas rolled his eyes and looked at Harry.
"You coming with me or do you wanna help Lockwood type up his summary?"
"I'll tag with you. Writing's never been my strong suit." Harry said standing up and dusted the crumps off his legs.
Thomas chuckled. "Alright then, let's head out."

They arrived at the parking space in front of the station and got into Thomas' car.
"First on the map is Devil's Share. A club known to have dabbled with drugs a bit in the past." Thomas said and pulled out of the parking lot.
"Is Lockwood always like that?" Harry asked.
"Hung-over? Drunk? Tired? Useless? Unfortunately, but for some reason he still functions when he's drunk. In fact, I prefer him when he's got a few glasses in rather than sober."
"Funny, you're not the first to say that..."
"What?" Thomas asked, having misheard Harry.
"Nothing, never mind." Harry said shaking his head.
