Hey Everyone we are back with another exciting chapter of Hearts in Balance: A Tale of Business and Medicine
Recap:
Aastha let out her pain in Aai's embrace that her Baba, Kaka, brothers, and Her Fire are ignoring her. Later they got lead on Karan Mehra's illegal activities and they reached the brothel to free the hostages and in chaos, Aastha got shot.
Let's Start!!!
As the car sped through the night, Aastha's breathing grew shallower, her grip on consciousness weakening with every passing second. Anurag watched her closely, his heart hammering in his chest. He could see her lips moving, trying to form words. He leaned closer, his ear near her mouth.
Aastha: Fire...I've something to...to...confess.
Anurag: Aastha not now, don't stress yourself too much...
Aastha (being stubborn): No...I...I want to say it now...
Anurag: Tell me what you want to say...
Aastha: Fire... I... like you...
Her voice was barely a whisper, but the words cut through his heart. He froze for a moment, her words echoing in his ears. But before he could respond, Aastha's eyes fluttered shut, and her body went limp in his arms.
Anurag: Aastha, No, stay with me!
He gently shook her, panic surging through him as he felt her consciousness slip away completely. Virat drove faster, pushing the car to its limits as they raced against time.
They finally arrived at the hospital, a team of doctors was already waiting, alerted ahead by Samrat. The moment the car stopped, the doors were flung open, and Aastha was carefully but urgently placed on a stretcher. Anurag followed closely behind, refusing to let her out of his sight until they reached the emergency room.
Doctor: We need to take her into surgery immediately. She's lost a lot of blood.
Anurag nodded, his face pale but determined. He was reluctant to leave her side but knew he had no choice. As the doctors wheeled Aastha away, he stood frozen for a moment, staring at the doors that had closed behind her.
Virat, Samrat, and Mohit joined him, their faces etched with concern. They had been through countless battles together, but this one felt different—personal.
Virat: She's strong, Anurag. She'll pull through.
Anurag nodded, but the fear in his eyes betrayed him. He sank into one of the chairs in the waiting area, his mind replaying Aastha's final words before she lost consciousness. "Fire, I like you..." He clenched his fists, frustration, and helplessness gnawing at him.
The next hour felt like an eternity as they waited for any news. Anurag didn't move from his seat, his mind fixed on the operation theatre where Aastha was. He replayed every moment they'd shared, every argument, every smile, every touch. Her words echoed in his mind, both a comfort and a torment.
The hallway was filled with Anurag's team all dressed in black who were impatiently waiting for the doctor. Finally, the surgeon emerged from the operating room. The entire team stood up at once, their eyes locked on the doctor.
Doctor: The surgery was successful. She's stable now, but she's been through a lot. We've managed to stop the bleeding, and her vital signs are improving. She'll need time to recover, but she's out of immediate danger.
Relief washed over them, and Anurag let out a breath he didn't realize he'd been holding. But the weight in his chest didn't fully lift. He wouldn't be at peace until she was awake and he could see her eyes again.
