"Meredith, you need to make a decision about your mom." Bailey softly said as Mark had page dher to the on-call room as Meredith was still laying down, finally admitting her back was causing her a lot of pain

"I'll take her home." Meredith whispered, not daring to look at either of them

"Mer?" Mark frowned

"I can't risk that Richard will force himself to get back too early." Meredith muttered and closed her eyes. "I gotta go to their house, to see if they have any groceries."

"Don't you think it would be better if you stay at your own place?" Bailey softly asked

"I can't have Ellis around Grace, Derek wouldn't be happy. Maybe I gotta hire a full time nurse for my mom.." she muttered

"I think that's a good idea, Mer. I can help you look for one." Mark said softly

"Take a nap, take some rest and we'll see what we can arrange." Bailey said

"I'm staying with her." Mark said, really worried about his friend

...

Hours later everything was finally arranged. Meredith was gonna be picked up by Derek while Ellis would be brought home by an ambulance

They had given the elder lady a slight sedative, to make sure she would remain calm

"Mer, easy.. Everything will go okay, the nurse will take care of your mother." Derek squeezed her hand

"Yeah." She sighed and closed her eyes until they arrived. Mark and Bailey had arranged 3 nurses that'd help each other out

"How's your back?" Derek asked her softly

"Hmm.." Meredith groaned. "I wanna pick up Grace as soon as we can."

"We will. I hope this will be over soon." Derek sighed and squeezed her hand softly. "We're here, let's do this." He nodded and helped his wife out of the car

"Dr Grey and Dr Shepherd." The male nurse walked up to them

"Hello Tim. Are you already installed?" Meredith asked, leaning against the car, her back was hurting

Derek gave her her cane and helped her walk up to the house

"I am, I made sure everything is safe for your mother. I'm glad you trust us."

Meredith nodded and slowly followed, very glad she could take a seat on one of the chairs

"She's arriving." Tim said and went outside. "I'll go give them a hand, don't worry."

Meredith smiled softly and sighed deeply once he was gone

"Are you okay?" Derek frowned

"It's giving me so much stress! And Der- Can I have more meds?" She looked so desperate

"I'll give you the max." Derek nodded and handed her the tablets and a bottle of water

"Tim really seems like someone we can trust. I feel like he'll be amazing for mom." Meredith nodded

"I think so too, I hope this will calm Richard down." Derek said as it had been a struggle

"Welcome home, Dr Grey." Tim spoke to Ellis as they helped her inside. She was calm and at peace which didn't happen that much lately. They'd try to help her out with meds so she wouldn't be a danger to herself and the people around her

"Hi mom." Meredith quietly said. Ellis only stared at her before Tim helped Ellis to get installed

Which all went fine, just like the past days. Meredith had been visiting a few times with Derek but never staying for too long because she also had to go to PT and visiting her father

"Der? Can you come with me today?" Meredith asked as she was calling with her husband

"I'm sorry, Mer.. I'm about to head into a 12 hour long surgery with Mark. Can you ask someone else?" Derek asked

"I will. Love you." Meredith said softly and called some people but no one was free. Instead she decided to call a taxi that brought her to her mother's house

"Hello Dr Grey, are you doing okay?" Tim asked as he had just started his shift. Stan, the other nurse, had just left after a rough day with Ellis

"Just a bit tired, but I'm fine." Meredith nodded and entered

"I gotta warn you, apparently your mom has been having some struggles today." He explained to her while they heard Ellis scream from her room. "I'll go check on her." He said

Meredith nodded and sadly took a seat, almost wanting to start crying

"No! Leave me alone!" She heard her mom scream and decided to take a look. Just as she walked up to the door, her mom stormed out, bumping into Meredith on her way out, causing her to fall on the floor, on her back which was still recovering..
