"Doctor Grey!" Tim ran to her side as she was laying down on the floor

"Auww." Meredith weakly whimpered, barely even conscious

"Okay, I'll call an ambulance." Tim said

"Let her lay there, she needs to learn how to behave." Ellis said firmly and walked back to her room

Tim called an ambulance and stayed close to Meredith who had been begging to not alarm Derek

"I think your husband will wanna know.." Tim muttered

"No-" Meredith whimpered

The ambulance arrived and loaded her in. They gave her some meds to keep her slightly comfortable and drove her off to the hospital. Tim had to stay with Ellis so it was quite a surprise when the doors of the ambulance opened

"Meredith Grey, still recovering-" The man started but Bailey and Derek's eyes went wide

"What the hell happened??" Derek asked, seeing his wife on the stretcher

"She was pushed and fell on her back. Reduced feeling in her lower body and in a whole lot of pain." The guy started over

"Get her for new scans!" Bailey demanded. "Shepherd, out. Now."

"What? No! I'm staying with my wife! She needs a neurosurgeon!" Derek frowned

"You're not on her case. Wait there!" Bailey said sternly and pushed Meredith's gurney to go take those scans

Derek was struggling to breathe, he felt like someone haunted his family as all they wanted was just to be happy for once and for all

Derek was pacing, he needed his wife to be okay and to not keep any longer injuries. He was gonna kill Ellis with his bare hands

"Derek!" Mark jogged up to him. "What the hell happened?"

"Mer went to see Ellis. She must have pushed her or something, she fell on her back!"

...

Meredith felt horrible. She attempted to open her extremely heavy eyes

"Hey Mer, you're awake!" She heard her husband's voice and wiggled her fingers. Meredith kept attempting to open her heavy eyes and finally managed

"Oh god, Meredith.." Derek's eyes were so red it was scaring her

But what had happened? Why was it so hard to open her eyes?

Then she realized..

She took a fall earlier..

"Der?" She whimpered, feeling pain intensifying

"Stay still, Meredith. You're back into a back and neck brace. You just had surgery, please you need to take it easy." Derek begged her

"Hurts-" She whimpered weakly, not sure what damage had been done

"Do you remember what happened?" Derek asked

"My mom.. And then I fell.." She muttered weakly

"You fell on your back, Meredith. It's not good." Derek couldn't stop a few tears from falling

"Wanna see the scans-" She muttered

"Your spine broke again, it's shattered. Amy performed surgery to fuse as much together as she could.." Derek tried to explain

"No-" Meredith gasped

"We don't think you'll be able to operate again, Mer. It will be a long recovery to even be able to stand up for more than an hour."

"G-Gracie- M-My job?!" Meredith started crying

"I am so sorry, Mer. I'm so sorry." He held her carefully as she really couldn't move
