Meredith was restless. Her daughter asleep on the couch but she was fed up

"Derek, I'm going to stay with her!" Meredith said sternly

"You're not, Meredith! You are not gonna put your health in danger!" He growled

"I'm going!"  She said angrily and stood up, leaning onto her cane, trying to hide in how much pain she was, her legs felt numb, her hands were shaking, her arm hurts from leaning heavily onto the cane

"Mama!" Grace ran towards her, noticing something was up as her parents were yelling at each other

Meredith limped outside and sat down on the hammock, Grace taking a seat next to her

"Mama, u kay?" Grace cuddled in her mom's side as Meredith started sobbing

"Of course, honey. It's just a bit hard right now." Meredith held her daughter's arm weakly.

Her back hurted, her legs hurted, her arm hurted.. everything was hurting but she needed to find a solution for her mother

"Gwan-pa is in the hospital?" Grace asked Meredith

"He is, yes. They are trying to take very good care of him." Meredith explained softly to the little girl while opening her phone. "Sweetie, I need you to go inside and go to daddy. I need to go somewhere." Meredith explained and kissed her daughter's head

"Kay!" She giggled and ran off

Before Meredith knew it her Uber had arrived. She slowly walked towards the car and got inside with some help of the driver

"Daddy! Daddy! Mama's goin' away!" Grace said in distress

"What?" Derek frowned and only saw the taxi driving away

"Mama's gone!" Grace started crying

"Mommy's just going to check on grandpa." Derek explained, or tried to since he had no idea where she was going to and worried sick since she wasn't even allowed to walk far

He made Grace go back to playing while calling Mark who rushed towards the entrance of the hospital

He waited there for a long time and then finally saw a car pulling up, spotting Meredith in the backseat

"She arrived, I'll take care of her." Mark said and ended the phone call, rushing to Meredith to help her get out and assist if needed

"Mark?" She frowned, almost whimpering when she got out

"Let's go get a wheelchair, that will be much smarter." He sighed and practically carried her, too weak to stand on her own legs

"I need to go see my parents." She muttered, knowing Derek called Mark

"I'm coming with you then." Mark said, not leaving any place for Meredith to argue

"Mark.." She sighed

"Let's go." He pushed her up to her mother's room

"Can we stop first at dad? Please?" She asked as she noticed where Mark was heading to

"Sure." Mark softened and placed his hand on Meredith's shoulder, feeling her squirm as she was really uncomfortable. "Maybe you should take a nap once we've seen both of them, laying down will feel much better."

"There's too much that I need to arrange, Mark. My parents- I-" She gasped for air

"Slow down, Mer." Mark kneeled down in front of her. "We'll find a solution."

Meredith took a shaky breath as she tried to think of ways to fix it all

After a while she was being pushed into Richard's room. His head was heavily bandaged and he was sound asleep because of the heavy meds he received

"Daddy.." She muttered, her voice breaking. "I need you to be okay.."

"He will be." Mark assured her and took a seat on a spare chair as he watched Meredith's tiny hand wrapped around Richard's

"We should go see my mother." Meredith muttered after a while

"Don't you wanna go lay down a bit first?" Mark asked her

"I can't Mark, I need to take her home tomorrow." Meredith muttered

"Derek won't like that.." Mark sighed

"I'm taking her to her house. I'll watch her, it will be fine."

Why do you wanna take care of her so badly? You know she's dangerous, Mer." Mark worried

"I'm only doing this for dad." She whispered. "He'd be disappointed if I don't and I need him fully recovered before going home."

"You aren't fully recovered either." Mark stated

"I know.. And I feel like I'm letting Gracie and Derek down." Meredith teared up. "But I also feel like letting dad down."

"Your dad should understand, and if he doesn't.. then.. Well.." Mark knew it hadn't been that smooth either between Richard and Meredith as it was often hard for her as she grew up

"Markie? Mind to bring me to an on-call room, please?" She whimpered, realizing she had to take care of herself now

"Of course not, I'm staying with you." He promised and started pushing her wheelchair, careful to not hurt her any more than she was already

Eventually he lifted her onto a bed and tucked her in

"Sorry Mark.. Can you please tell Derek I'm sorry and that I'll call him soon?" Meredith asked, fighting her sleep as her eyes started closing

"I'll call him really quick, just take some rest, I'll be back soon." Mark said softly, making sure she'd be warm as he added an extra blanket

"Thank you.." Meredith whispered and fell asleep

Sorry for the long waiting. Lately i've just struggled a lot with my body and going back to work etc but here it issss
