Juliana Woodland and Nate Jacobs have been best friends for as long as they can remember.
They are now in their junior year and East Highland High School and things are starting to get complicated.

It was the first day of the school year, and Juliana always looked forward to it. Even though it was sad for summer vacation to end, there was something exciting and fresh about a new year at school, with the smell of fall starting in the air, her favourite season.
She looked through her over filled closet, trying to decide what to wear, while Nate was in the bathroom attached to her bedroom, brushing his teeth. They pretty much always slept at each others houses, and Nate had a toothbrush among other belongings left there.
"I can't decide what to wear!" Juliana exclaimed, narrowing her options down to two different outfits, one of them being a short floral print skirt and a cropped white tube top.
Nate eyed up the outfits options she had laid on her bed. "Definitely not that one, I don't need to get in a fight on the first day back." He shook his head, pointing at the outfit with the tube top. "At least the brown shirt covers you up a bit better."
Juliana laughed and rolled her eyes and picked up the other outfit option, a pleated plaid skirt with a chocolate brown top.
"You're such a caveman. I was thinking the other one anyways. But you know you don't need to get in a fight when someone looks at me the wrong way, I was actually thinking maybe this year I'll meet someone decent."
Nate stiffened at the thought of this, but bit his tongue. "Yeah, as if there's anyone decent at school for you to meet."
Juliana got dressed, something she did in front of Nate without even a second thought since they've known each other longer than they even remember.
Nate glanced at her, trying to act casual like he didn't notice she was in front of him in her lacey light pink bra and underwear, when he really wanted to do nothing more than rip it off of her and throw her on the bed.
His thoughts were interrupted when Juliana realized they were running late and rushed them out the door.
They ran next door to Nate's house and climbed into his truck, Nate helping her in and closing the door for her as always. If it was up to him, she would never open a door herself, anywhere. He wanted to take care of her all the time, in every possible way.
They arrived to school with a few minutes to spare and got their class schedules, immediately going to compare them.
"Oh yay we have more than half of our classes together, that's better than I thought!" Juliana said, pointing out that they had math, geography and bio together.
Nate felt more annoyed than he wanted to let on; he wanted to be able to be with her for every class, and every second of every day, his presence keeping any of their male classmates away from her.
Although basically everyone at school already knew better than to mess with her, he still wanted to keep her safe from them.
Nate walked her to her first class, already counting the seconds until they would reunite in second period. He watched her walk in the classroom in her pretty plaid skirt, her heels clicking on the floor and her brown waves bouncing up and down with each step.
