When Nate came back out to his truck from Elliot's house, Juliana immediately noticed that his knuckles were bloody, but he didn't have a hair out of place.
"Are you okay?" She asked him weakly.
"I'm fine, please don't worry about me." He said, putting his hand on her thigh. "Are you okay, Angel?"
She nodded silently in response. He was shaking, both from rage at what Elliot did and from adrenaline after beating the absolute shit out of him. He would have gladly done worse to him if he thought he could have gotten away with it.
He wanted to know exactly what Elliot did to her, but he knew it wouldn't help to ask questions like that right now.
When he pulled into his driveway, he got out and rushed around to the passenger side to open the door for her. He helped her out and into his house, opting not to go to her house on the slim chance her mom was home and would wonder what was going on.
His heart raced as he carried her into his bedroom, shutting the door behind them. The house was silent, the only sound the distant thump of a bass from a stereo in his brother's bedroom.
He guided her to his bed and she sat down, trembling. She was didn't say a word as he retrieved her a pair of pink and white striped pajamas and helped her change into them.
"Juliana, you know I'm here for you, I would have fucking killed that piece of shit if I could get away with it. But I swear to god I will figure out how to if he fucking-"
"He didn't," she cut him off. "He was trying but...he didn't."
He wrapped his arms around her as they lay down together, never wanting to let go. "I'm so fucking sorry I wasn't there, I'm so sorry for everything. I'm sorry for our fight, and for what I said."
"It's okay, I'm just glad you're here now." She murmured into his chest.
Their argument was the last thing on her mind right now. She was just relieved to be back with him and that he saved her, as always.
He held onto her tightly, stroking her hair until he heard her steady breathing, signalling that she had fallen asleep on his chest. He somehow managed to drift off to sleep soon after she did, his mind a mess from the nights events.
Nate awoke and immediately realized that Juliana wasn't in bed with him. It must have been the middle of the night or very early morning- his bedroom was still dark.
He glanced at his phone on the nightstand, squinting his eyes: 1:02AM. He heard the shower running in the bathroom attached to his bedroom.
He listened for a moment before realizing he could hear Juliana crying. He carefully made his way towards the door and his hand hovered over the knob, unsure what to do. He didn't want to intrude, but he couldn't just leave her like this.
