🌼🌼Aarushi's pov🌼🌼
The sound of his footsteps made me duck into the balcony, stifling a giggle. He was clearly confused as silence fell abruptly inside.
"Bachaaa?? Where are you??" he called out, scanning the room. Tossing his blazer onto the sofa, he rolled up his sleeves and began searching.
He checked the bathroom, peered into the wardrobe.
"Seriously, this guy... Why would I hide in a wardrobe?"
"Come on! I planned a surprise and now you’ve vanished. Just come out already!" His frustration only made it more fun for me.
Not wanting to push him too far, I slipped back inside from the balcony. "Really? You can't even find me now? Searching the wardrobe while I was out in the open balcony?" I teased as I walked up to him.
"Why do you always play games, huh?" He closed the gap between us and pulled me into a hug.
I stroked his back gently, "Tired? Dropping Kiran home took all your energy?" I teased him again.
"Please, bachaa!" He buried his face in the crook of my neck. "Let’s just talk about us ." His one arm stayed tightly around me as one hand absently played with my hair.
"How can we talk when you're glued to me? Not to mention, I spent so much time decorating this room, and you haven’t even asked why. You didn't even notice properly!" I pouted.
"Of course I noticed," he whispered against my chin. "But first, I notice *you*. Everything else comes second. Besides, I already know why you decorated the room."
"Oh really?" I raised an eyebrow. "Then enlighten me, why?"
"You wanted to apologize," he said matter-of-factly.
I don’t know how Rudra is going to react. I’m terrified. It’s only been a year and a half since we got married, and some people don’t like the idea of becoming parents so soon. Most couples take time to focus on their relationship first. I know you’ll always support me, but I don’t want you to hide your true feelings just to make me happy. Should I even tell you?
"Hello?" He waved his hand in front of my face, snapping me out of my thoughts. He lifted his head from my chest and looked at me, concerned.
"Uh... nowhere, just...," I quickly looked away, avoiding his eyes.
"Did something happen? Did someone say something to you?" he asked, misinterpreting my nervousness.
“No, no, it’s not that,” I muttered, my eyes glued to the floor as I twisted my fingers nervously.
He bent down, trying to catch my gaze. "So, what’s going on?" he asked, tilting his head playfully to meet my eyes.
I looked at him but stayed silent.
He raised his eyebrows, waiting for a response, but when I still didn’t speak, he scooped me up effortlessly and carried me to the bed. Sitting down, he shifted his arms and placed me gently on his lap, holding me like one cradles a newborn. One hand supported my back while he rested his chin on other , the way you would when comforting a baby.
