MISHTI'S POV

As we walked side by side along the road, deep in conversation, the sky opened up, and it started to rain—those unpredictable beautiful Mumbai rains. I could almost hear Abir sigh beside me; he'd never been a fan of the rain. But for me, it was a burst of excitement, a sudden thrill that made my heart race. I looked at him, my face lighting up with a smile. "Abir!!! Let's dance," I said, my voice bubbling with enthusiasm. "You know it's my dream to do a romantic dance with the love of my life in the rain, just like in the movies... Please don't say no!"

For a moment, I could see him hesitate, but then I saw that familiar softness in his eyes, the one that always makes my heart melt. I knew he'd never say no to something that mattered to me.

He took my hand in his, and I felt a rush of warmth as his other hand slipped around my waist, pulling me close. I instinctively tightened my grip on his shoulder, feeling his strength and the safety of being in his arms. Without thinking, I lifted my tiptoes and pressed a quick kiss to his cheek, whispering a small "thank you" against his skin. His breath hitched, and I could feel the way his whole body reacted to that little touch. My heart fluttered wildly, knowing I'd made him feel something too. For a moment, it felt like the world faded away, and all that existed was us—the rain, our laughter, and this beautiful dance I never wanted to end.

We danced without music, guided only by the rhythm of our hearts and the steady beat of the rain. I could feel his heartbeat against my cheek, strong and steady, mirroring my own. Everything around us seemed to disappear—the world, the cold, the storm. It was just us, moving together, our breaths mingling with laughter, our bodies sharing warmth in the rain's chill. He pulled me even closer, and I melted into him. Our movements felt so natural, so effortless as if we'd danced like this a thousand times before.

I looked up into his eyes and saw something that made my heart swell—a kind of joy that was raw and real, like he was fully here, in this moment, with me. I felt alive, truly alive, feeling every drop of rain, every touch, every shared breath. And in that moment, I realized I never wanted this dance to end.

And in that moment, something shifted between us. His gaze lingered on my lips for just a second, and I felt a magnetic pull, something unspoken passing between us.

Before I knew it, I was leaning in, my breath catching in my throat. I saw the surprise flash in his eyes, but he didn't pull away. Instead, he closed the gap between us, but before that, he asked, "May I?" my eyes shined brightly listening to him asking for permission before, giving me confirmation that I had made the right choice.

I whispered "Yes" after which his lips brushed softly against mine. It was gentle at first, a tentative exploration, but then I felt him smile against my lips, and a wave of warmth spread through me. The rain poured down around us, but I barely felt it; all I could feel was him—his lips, his warmth, his heartbeat.

His hand moved up from my waist to cradle the back of my head, pulling me even closer, and deepening the kiss. I could taste the rain on his lips, and feel the heat between us building, and it felt like everything I'd ever imagined and more. I kissed him back, pouring every unspoken word, every hidden feeling into that moment.

When we finally pulled back, breathless and smiling, I looked into his eyes and saw the same joy reflected at me, magnified a thousand times. The rain kept falling, but it felt like we were in our world. I rested my forehead against his, our breaths mingling as he whispered, "I never want this to end sweetheart."

And for the first time, I didn't need to say a word—I knew I felt the same.

I was still so close to him, our foreheads touching, the rain pouring down around us like a curtain. I couldn't stop smiling—I felt like I was floating.
