MISHTI'S POV

The night air was cool, wrapping around us like a gentle embrace as we walked hand-in-hand down the cobblestone path. The soft glow of the lanterns above painted a golden hue on everything they touched, and the sound of distant waves crashing against the shore added a rhythmic lull to the atmosphere. I couldn't remember the last time I felt this light, this free. Being with Abir was like stepping into a dream I never wanted to wake up from.

He had planned the evening perfectly—a quiet dinner at a secluded seaside restaurant, followed by a moonlit walk. Everything felt like it had been ripped right out of a fairytale. And there was something different about him tonight. A softness in his eyes, a gentleness in his touch that sent butterflies fluttering wildly in my stomach.

As we strolled further down the path, I noticed a small gazebo ahead, draped in delicate white flowers and fairy lights. It looked almost magical under the moonlight. "Abir, it's beautiful," I breathed, feeling my heart swell with affection.

He smiled that rare, genuine smile that could melt anyone's heart, and led me inside

He smiled that rare, genuine smile that could melt anyone's heart, and led me inside. I glanced around, taking in the beauty of the place. Suddenly, I felt his hand leave mine, and I turned to see him reaching into his pocket. My pulse quickened. What was he doing?

"Sweetheart" he began, his voice low and serious. He took a deep breath, and for a moment, I saw something vulnerable in his eyes—something raw and real. "I know I'm not perfect. I have my flaws, and my secrets... but with you, I feel like I can be better. Like there's a part of me that's still good."

I felt my breath catch in my throat. Where was this coming from? Abir wasn't one for grand declarations. I could feel my cheeks warm up, my heart hammering in my chest.

"And I want to keep you with me, always," he continued, his voice soft but steady. "I want you to know that I'm serious about us." He pulled out a small velvet box, and when he opened it, a delicate ring featured a raw, uncut diamond set in a rose gold band intricately designed with detailed leaves. My heart skipped a beat.

 My heart skipped a beat

"Abir... this...?" I whispered, my eyes flicking between the ring and his face.

"It's a promise ring," he explained, his eyes never leaving mine. "I promise to protect you, to cherish you, and to always be by your side, no matter what happens."

I felt a tear slip down my cheek as he slid the ring onto my finger. It wasn't an engagement ring, but it felt just as meaningful. This was Abir's way of saying he was serious about me, about us. I nodded, my voice trembling as I managed to whisper, "I promise too, Abir. I promise to stand by you, always."

He smiled then, a mix of relief and affection in his eyes, and pulled me into a warm, protective embrace. I closed my eyes, sinking into him, feeling safe, loved, and happy. If only I knew what he was promising that night.

ABIR'S POV

The night was clear, and the stars above seemed to be watching us. Everything was perfect. Almost too perfect. I'm not the kind of man who does dates and romantic gestures, but for Mishti, my sweetheart, I'd do anything. She was different. She made me feel different—softened the edges of the darkness inside me.

The restaurant, the walk, the gazebo—all carefully planned to create the perfect moment. Mishti deserved nothing less. She was pure, untouched by the shadows of my world. And I was ready to give her a piece of me. A piece that was still capable of love.

As we reached the gazebo, I could feel the weight of the small box in my pocket. This wasn't a proposal, not yet, but it was close. A promise ring was a step. A way to keep her close, to make sure she'd never stray too far.

"Sweetheart" I started, feeling something twist in my chest as I saw her eyes light up with anticipation. She had no idea what she did to me. "I know I'm not perfect. I have my flaws, my secrets... but with you, I feel like I can be better." And that was the truth. She made me want to be better. For her.

I reached into my pocket and pulled out the box, feeling my pulse quicken. This wasn't like any other deal or decision I'd ever made. This was real. I looked into her eyes, and I knew I wanted her. She made me feel alive in a way nothing else ever had.

"I want to keep you with me, always," I continued, opening the box and showing her the ring. It wasn't much, but it was a start. "I promise to protect you, to cherish you, and to always be by your side, no matter what happens."

I watched her eyes well up with tears, her lips trembling slightly. She was so beautiful, so innocent. When she whispered, "I promise too, Abir. I promise to stand by you, always," I felt a strange mix of emotions—pride, possession, and something deeper, something that almost scared me.

As I slipped the ring onto her finger, I knew I'd done the right thing. Mishti was mine now, in every way that mattered. I pulled her into my arms, holding her close, feeling her warmth seep into me. She was mine to protect, to keep, to cherish. No matter what.

And God help anyone who tried to take her away from me.

After having dinner we left as it was late at night and we were on the outskirts of Mumbai so it would take us time to get back. As we both were walking side by side towards the parking lot, the happenings of tonight were coming to my mind again and again.

As Mishti sat in the car I was going towards the driver's side to seat. The call came in right, as my men had Anup Roy, the one who dared to steal from me. A pest who needed to be exterminated.

I told my sweetheart I had some important work to take care of at my factory and she reached there I told Mishti to wait and stay put. She trusted me, of course, she did. I didn't think she'd follow me. She never disobeys me.

I entered the torture room, the stench of fear and blood hanging heavy in the air. Anup Roy, that fool was being perfectly torched by my men, begged for mercy, thinking I'd forget my old grudge.

"Sorry, Abir," he whimpered, his face covered in blood and tears. As if an apology could bring back what his father took from me. My childhood. My family. My sister.
