ABIR'S POV

Frustration boiled inside me as I stared at my phone. Mishti hadn't answered any of my calls and hadn't replied to a single message. It wasn't like her to ignore me. She loved me-she always picked up. But today... nothing. I had sent her countless texts, pleading for her to talk to me, to just hear me out. But the silence was unbearable.

I gritted my teeth and dialed her number again, my fingers shaking with a mix of rage and desperation. The line didn't even ring this time. Blocked.

"She blocked me?" My voice was low, and dangerous, disbelief flooding through me. I tried calling from another phone she didn't have my number on. The moment she answered, relief washed over me. Finally. Her soft voice reached me after that hellish night.

"Sweetheart-" I began, my heart lifting.

But before I could say anything more, she cut the call. Blocked me again.

I stared at the phone in my hand, the realization crashing down on me like a tidal wave. Mishti was trying to get away from me. From us. She was slipping through my fingers, and I couldn't bear it. I redialed her from yet another phone, but it didn't even ring this time. She had switched her phone off.

"Dammit!" I roared, hurling the phone across the room. My breath came in ragged bursts, the room spinning as the darkness I tried to keep buried inside me began to claw its way out. Mishti was pulling away. She was trying to run. But I wouldn't let her.

She was mine. She belonged to me.

My mind raced with dark thoughts. Mishti had to understand that she couldn't escape from what we had. I wouldn't let her go. Not now. Not ever.

Without thinking, I made the decision. I needed to see her. Now.

I knew where she was one of my men had been keeping an eye on her all day. She was at home, alone now. I grabbed my car keys and stormed out of the mansion, my only thought being that I had to make her see. I wouldn't let her disappear from my life. I wouldn't lose her.

The moment Mishti opened the door, my heart pounded in my chest. There she is my Sweetheart. But her face wasn't the same. The light in her eyes, the love I once saw... it was gone. Instead, there was fear. Fear of me.

It hit me like a punch in the gut, but I pushed it down. I couldn't let her slip away. I smiled, though it didn't quite reach my eyes, and spoke softly, "Sweetheart."

But she just stood there, frozen, staring at me like I was a monster. Her silence made my frustration grow, but I couldn't let it show. "Why are you running from me?" My voice came out low, more intense than I intended. "You know you can't escape me, Mishti. We belong together."

I watched as she took a step back, her body trembling. The fear in her eyes twisted something inside me, but I had to get through to her. I stepped forward, trying to stay calm. "Abir... please... leave," she whispered, her voice shaking.

For a second, the dangerous tone in my voice disappeared, replaced by something more desperate. "Mishti, wait," I pleaded, my heart softening. Please, I wanted to say, though I never begged for anything in my life. But for her, I would. "Just... just listen to me. Please."

I could see her shaking, tears brimming in her eyes, and my chest tightened. I took another step closer, my voice softer now, almost pleading. "I didn't want you to see that side of me. But whatever happened there holds a reason, that you should know"

But she shook her head, her voice barely above a whisper. "Leave me alone, Abir. Please... just go."

Something snapped. Her words, the way she pulled away from me-it made my blood boil. My obsession, the need to have her close, consumed me. The softness in my voice vanished, and the darker side of me took over again.
