Unknown: Keep singing for me, sweet girl.

It's been a week since I received that message and I can't stop reading it. I have no idea who it could be. I don't list my number anywhere, and the only people that have my real number are Sabrina, Onyx, and Karver. My other number is for business, and I only have access to it from my burner phone.

Did Karver put cameras around the house? I mean, I wouldn't put it past him, but he's never shown a romantic interest in me. So why call me sweet girl? This is fucking weird. My burner phone started going off. I pulled it out of my back pocket and checked who was calling. It wasn't a registered contact*.* Who could that possibly be? I always have my clients registered as my contacts.

I hesitantly picked up, my interest peaked. "Hello? Who is this?"

"You can call me A. I heard you're a good assassin. I've got a job for you. I'll pay you good."

I froze. That voice.

☯︎︎Flashback☯︎︎

"You can call me A." the boy said as he patted my head with the hand that wasn't bloodied.

"A?" I asked in a shy, silent voice.

"Yeah, it's the first letter of my name. What's yours?"

"A."

His face became concerned. "Yes, that's my name. Are you okay?"

I nodded. "My name.. it's A."

With a light chuckle, he leaned down, allowing us to make eye contact. "Seems like we're twining."

I smiled at him.

⚠︎︎End of Flashback⚠︎︎

Ever since that day, I never left his side, until one day he was taken from me.

"Hello? Are you still there?"

"A? Like the first letter of your name?"

He sighed in frustration. "Yes? Why does that matter?"

Does he really not recognize my voice? "It's me.. A." I replied.

He stayed silent for a second too long and my hands started to sweat, doubt clouding my head. Could it really be the same A?

"It's you. That little girl from all those years ago. I thought you were dead, so I never came looking."

I chuckled. "After that punishment, I thought I was going to die. Some girl would come take care of me after my beatings and after we got off punishment she'd take care of me, but I was always worried that you might've died or something inside of the walls."
