Woozi gets a dare to make Seungkwan fall in love with him but it turns real when unexpected emotions arise.
Jihoon knew the dare was stupid the moment he heard it.
The bright lights of the party, the clinking of glasses, the way everyone egged him on, it all made it seem like a game.
But he knew better. This kind of dare was dangerous.
He looked over at Seungkwan, who was currently occupied at the bar, laughing at something Joshua and Jun had said.
His laugh was contagious, loud, and unrestrained, and Jihoon could almost feel the warmth radiating off him even from across the room.
"Come on, Jihoon hyung,"
Mingyu urged, giving him a playful nudge.
"What's the worst that could happen?"
Jihoon gave him a deadpan look, and Mingyu just grinned wider.
Jihoon was well aware of Seungkwan's reputation as the life of the party, someone everyone felt drawn to because of his humor and kindness.
But he was also aware that Seungkwan had a deeply vulnerable side, one he didn't often show.
It wasn't a game Jihoon wanted to play, not really.
And yet, something inside him, perhaps the tiny bit of competitiveness he held, made him want to try.
"Fine."
He muttered, downing the rest of his drink.
The bitter taste made his nose scrunch, but he took a deep breath, gathering his courage as he set his cup down.
Mingyu whooped, a little too loud, which earned them both a few looks.
Jihoon shot him a glare, but Mingyu just waved him off with a laugh.
"Go get him, Jihoon hyung."
Squaring his shoulders, Jihoon started walking toward the bar, where Seungkwan was laughing in his usual unrestrained way, his eyes sparkling.
Jihoon felt his heart rate spike, his usual calm demeanor feeling oddly shaky as he got closer.
He couldn't shake the feeling that this was a bad idea, that pretending to have feelings for someone as bright and open-hearted as Seungkwan was playing with fire.
But Jihoon had always been good at keeping his feelings in check, at masking vulnerability with calm indifference.
"Hey!"
He greeted, sliding up next to Seungkwan, trying to keep his voice casual.
Seungkwan looked over, eyebrows raised in surprise, and Jihoon fought to keep his face neutral.
