LILY POV:

"Most of you did well, with the exception of a few. When i give you your paper, record your grade on your sheets and spend the rest of the lesson looking through your papers and making notes on what to improve for next time". 3 days had passed since the chemistry exam and Mrs Logan wandered round the room, handing the chemistry papers back individually. I was nervous to see my grade, but I had worked hard so I should have done well - right?

"98% Miss Evans, i'm impressed" praised Mrs Logan as I recieved my paper, smiling to myself at the A+ grade written in red marker on the front. The rest of the lesson passed by quickly, with most of the class talking loudly in groups rather than actually doing any work, not that that bothered me though, I was busy making 3 pages of notes on the 3 marks I missed. The bell eventually rang and everyone drifted to the canteen for lunch.

"Hey Lilpop, I heard about your chemistry grade! Good job babe!" praised Madison as she embraced me in a tight hug.
"Aaah thanks Mad - although how do you know my grade? And where were you the past hour?" I questioned.

"Mrs Logan caught me in the corridor and told me your grade and mine since I was in extra math all hour, although not without adding a cheeky remark about how good of an influence you are on me, blah blah blah, but hey, I got a B!" she explained.
"Oh my god Maddie I am so proud of you! I told you that library time would pay off" I replied whilst walking into the canteen and hugging my best friend at the same time.

"Thanks chick, oh I almost forgot, in math I met this girl called Ana, Ana Tamworth I think she said. Anyways she seemed lovely and I invited her to have lunch with us and Eleanor - oh look here she is now!"

I looked over the canteen as Maddie summoned the girl over to our table. I could see why Maddie liked her immediately, she was just one of those people with a shining presence, you know the kind of girl that everyone looks at and smiles. She had very dark long and straight hair, cherry red lips and green eyes. Her black jeans hugged her slim figure and her white top was decorated with gold necklaces, subtle but stylish.

"Hey Madison, and hello, you must be Lily!" Ana introduced herself cheerfully. I was always shy meeting new people but I smiled at Ana's introduction and scooted along the bench to make room for her.

I opened up my tuna pasta pot and began to eat, listening in to the conversation as my other best friend Eleanor sat down opposite me. "Hey ladies - oh well who is this then?" Eleanor questioned Ana, as she took her usual spot opposite Maddie. "I'm Ana, well, Anastasia Tamworth if you want to be formal, but everyone just calls me Ana" replied the cheery girl.

"Cool, so tell me about yourself, i'm a curious person" interrogated Eleanor. "Haha okay then" began Ana "well I have just moved across the timetable, hence why you guys havent really seen me before since i've never been in your classes or had lunch at the same time as you. There was some trouble with a couple of girls in my old classes and so the principle thought it would be best to move me away from them. I don't really have many girl friends to be honest because i usually just hang out with my brother and his friends, but they are cool guys, i'm sure you'd all like them - speaking of the devil -"

Ana was interupted by a tall guy with short dark hair and the same green eyes as Ana "Hello there squirt, see you've finally swapped timetable then" he said to her. "Yeah, thank God. Oh girls, this is my twin brother Max, he is some child genius prodigy and so he is in the year above. Sucks right?" Ana introduced the boy to us all.

"Hello girls, i'm glad squirt here has found some friends! Anyways Ana, i'm glad you're okay, i'm going to sit with the guys, you can join us if you want but you seem happy here so i'm gonna go. See you at home" said Max before nodding at the rest of us and walking away.

I watched Max walk across the canteen to the far corner, the table furthest away from us. It was only then that I realised who he was sitting with - it was the guys I saw in the park on monday! I glanced over the table of guys only to have my eyes drawn like a magnet to the boy sat on the far side. The boy had strong, broad shoulders, dark brown hair and a fine jawline - so finely chiseled that I could see the outline from all the way across the canteen.

I stared at the mystery boy as the girls continued on with their conversation until suddenly, the boy gazed across, eyes lingering on mine. We stared at each other for what felt like minutes until the boy was nudged on the shoulder by Max and he got up and exited the canteen, but not before shooting me another undivided look, tearing his eyes away at the last second as he walked out the door.

"Earth to Lily, hello?" prodded Eleanor. "Huh, sorry what were you saying?" I responded, trying to subtly hide my obviously distracted mind.
"We were saying that if we dont get to our lockers and to English in the next 3 minutes then we will have a late mark, and I dont think you would be happy if we let you daydream yourself into having your first detention now would you?" Explained Eleanor. I looked down at my tuna pasta which I had barely even touched, before quickly tossing it in the bin with no time left to eat and jogging out of the canteen to catch up with the others.

"Oh and by the way Lily, whilst you were in dream land we all organised to go round to Ana's house tomorrow night for a bonfire. Her brothers friends will be there too so it should be fun. We'll organise the details later, bye!" said Maddie before running off to English.

As I sat down at my desk my mind finally caught on, a bonfire with Max's friends means that my staring partner will be there! Oh God, what if he thinks i'm a complete creep? No surely he can't, I mean he was staring back! Damn it, what if that was just because he was trying to work out who the weirdo across the room eyeballing him was? Nice Lily, real smooth.
