LILY POV:
Friday passed quickly, with no more sightings of the mystery boy, although the he wasn't going to be a mystery for much longer - the bonfire was tonight."So, how about I come over to yours from school, we'll call into mine on the way so I can pick up some clothes and then we'll get ready at yours" asked Madison as we walked out of school and began our usual route home. "Then you can also tell me why you have been so distant since lunch yesterday" she added, causing me to look up at her in confusion. "I know you are quiet anyway Lil so don't even try and use that as an excuse, but I know when there is something up with you, it's best friend instincts". Maddie added before unlocking her front door and jogging up the stairs to grab her clothes.
"Hello Lily dear, how are you?" Asked Dianne (Maddie's Mom) as she walked out of the kitchen. "I'm great thanks! How are you?" I politely responded. "I'm fantastic honey, just making some cakes for the PTA fayre in the morning" she continued before Maddie skipped down the stairs, kissing her Mom on the cheek. "See you later Mom" called Maddie as she walked back out the door with her bag slung over her shoulder. "Bye girls, have a good night - stay safe!" Called Dianne as I waved goodbye and caught up with Maddie.
We walked up the steps to my house as my little brother Mason opened the door with a cheesy grin on his face. "Lily hey! Guess what I got at school today?" He questioned enthusiastically. "I don't know little guy! A new book?" I responded, crouching down to his level. "I got a sticker for being the best tidy-upper! It's blue and has a dolphin on it, look look!" He exclaimed, pointing to his jumper where the sticker lay. "Wow Mase that's awesome! Good job buddy!" I praised, ruffling his hair and beginning my walk upstairs to my room with Maddie close behind. "Hey Mom and Dad" I called as I reached the top of the stairs.
I loved my little family, my Mom and Dad were both doctors and worked at the local hospital, they were busy and worked a lot but it meant that we had a lovely home and they were really chilled out parents. I mean, I kinda was their golden child, great grades and never got into trouble, so they had nothing to worry about with me and just let me do whatever I wanted pretty much. Mom always tries to bring me out of my shell more, says that I shouldn't be so shy and should be more adventurous, like she was in her youth, but my Dad is just happy that his teenage daughter is sensible. Mason, my little brother is 5 and honestly, the most adorable little boy ever, with his strawberry blonde hair and infectious laugh and grin, everyone who comes over to the house immediately falls in love with him. Amelia is my 9 year old sister and she is so much like me it's scary. She has long dark hair like me and is a book worm, and little Lily-like-nerd in the making, which I love. One of my favourite things ever about being a big sister was passing on my books to Amelia.
"Right missy, I'm going to go through your wardrobe and find something cute and warm for you to wear whilst you go sit right there and spill the beans" said Maddie as she pushed me down on to the sofa in the corner of my room. My bedroom was pretty big but not massive, with my queen sized bed in the centre covered with a huge array of cushions and blankets, my desk, compete with my laptop and extensive shelving for all of my textbooks, little sofa (which I was currently sat on) and then my chest of drawers, wardrobe and book case on the other wall. I had loads of photos up on the walls, pictures of my family holidays, dancing shows and silly times with Eleanor and Madison. I also had a long shelf with all of my dancing trophies.
When I wasn't reading, studying or spending time with Maddie and Eleanor, I spend a huge amount of time in the dance studio in town. I have been dancing since I was 3 and I love it so much, plus is is something I am actually good at! Dancing is my release, I am so shy that I often find my emotions get all bottled up and I can let all of my worries, frustrations, fears and loves out through the medium of dance. Not many people who I know have seen me dance, but when I have the time, I compete in competitions and as shown by my trophies, I often win.
"Well" I began to explain "yesterday I caught someone's eye in the cafeteria and we kinda gazed at each other for a while, this is while you were all organising the bonfire, and, well the guy is one of Max and Ana's friends". "Hold up, you have a crush on this guy?" Exclaimed Maddie.
"No no no, I mean he is very good looking but no, I'm just nervous to see him incase he thinks I'm a weirdo for staring" I quickly explained.
"You totally fancy this guy! Lily this is great, I've been waiting for you to find some hot guy for forever, this is perfect! Do you know his name? What did he look like?" Rambles Maddie."Hold up Mads, I never said I fancied him, I just said he was good looking, and no I don't know his name" I chucked. "
"Well Lily I think it's about time you found yourself a hunk, you are so beautiful, kind, smart and funny, he'd be a fool not to like you! I can't wait to see this guy" started Maddie as I looked down blushing. "Now, with that in mind, let's have another look at this wardrobe of yours"AUTHORS NOTE:
Hello! I hope you are enjoying the story so far! I know this is a filler chapter, but i wanted to introduce you to Lily's family, home and life a bit more before the story gets properly underway.
