A/N: With how my writing has progressed compared to months ago, I've been really wanting to rewrite this story, and also with how well received the Megumi fic version is going on right now (11/7/2024).
Also, I'd recommend my Megumi fic over this one, considering it was written when I was more experienced (11/15/2024).

"Are you truly satisfied?"
Those words echoed in the airport hallway.
Two black cladded figures stood opposite of each other, forming a stark contrast to their white surroundings.
"What are you talking about?" The white haired man spoke up, raising an eyebrow as his black shades lowered to meet the other person.
"A sorcerer never dies without regrets, right?" The other man, what can be assumed to be a teenager with a slicked back bob replied. "Satoru, answer this, do you have any regrets?"
Gojo Satoru paused as his brows creased, contemplating the question. "Where did this come from, Suguru?" A bead of sweat traced down the side of his head.
"I'll be honest with you, I have many regrets." Geto's hands remained in his pockets, turning his head to look at the ceiling. "There were many things I had wished to do, none of which I was truly satisfied with..." His gaze returned to Gojo. "I had always thought of you, while embracing these thoughts. Let me ask this again: are you truly satisfied?"
Gojo paused, at a loss for words. Was he truly satisfied? The thought spiraled through his mind, as he fell ever deeper into it. It was a never ending pit, one that he feared he would never be able to break out of.
"Wow, really, never thought you'd be this at a loss for words," A small smile formed on Geto's lips as he closed his eyes. "I have to say, I've always admired you, that uncontended strength that even I couldn't keep up with." His eyes reopened with new clarity, "You were unapproachable, to the point even I couldn't get past that barrier that had formed around you."
"..." Gojo pressed his lips together as he listened, a focus akin to landing a black flash formed within him.
"So I had decided..." His eyes burned with clarity, "I wish to change."
A heavy silence permeated the room as they remained staring at each other. The confines of the room never truly brought them any closer.
"...Really, I doubt I can change your mind at this point, huh?" Gojo's own smile finally framed his face and he closed his eyes. "Not back then, and not here huh? I feel like I'm being left behind again," a dry laugh left his lips as they quivered ever so slightly.
"What you decide here is now dependent on you," Geto stepped forward as his right hand left his pocket, forming a fist. "Maybe someday, I'd be there to slap your back, yeah?" His fist lightly made contact with Gojo's right shoulder.
A million words, a million things he wished to say, but they all died down in Gojo's throat. "Whatever ya' do next, don't regret it alright?" With a hearty smile, he extended his own fist and tapped it against Geto's shoulder.
"I should be saying that to you," A radiant smile formed upon his best friend's face as he couldn't help but lightly laugh to himself.
With that, the both of them turned their heels, away from each other as they walked. The entrance in front of Gojo as he walked became clearer and he continued his steps.
'To choose something that is truly meaningful...'
