The Monkey King stared upon the radiant sky, bearing down the holy light of heaven itself upon a single figure.
The Honored One, the greatest being to ever grace both Heaven and Earth had awakened at this very moment, as if his truest self had been asleep all the time before.
Asleep in the deepest mantles of the Earth, unknowing of his place to stand at the very pinnacle of Heaven.
A wild grin bore on his face, the Monkey King knew that this was the moment, the chance to prove himself. To prove to the Celestial Firmament that his worth mattered, that he was above them in all aspects.
It was as if standing against a being encompassing the Earth itself, the blinding lights of the empyreal sky caused his eyes to narrow.
To defeat the one who was with the universe itself, to hold all of creation in the palm of his hands, to crush the very notion of the society that had labeled him as nothing but a monkey. A subhuman to be trashed, thrown into the pits, and left out as nothing but a dirty rag.
The eyes of Nirvana seemed to have stared down at him, the precipice of his own defeat laid in The Honored One's palms.
It was then the realization struck him, like a mountain crushing his entire form.

When Fushiguro Toji was a child, he had always snuck out of his quarters to sneak into the Zen'in secret library.
It was the same old routine: hide in the shadows, stalk the guards who patrolled the clan grounds, and then make it into the library.
Thanks to his Heavenly Restriction, he could sneak past all of them with ease, a practice he used to train his stealth.
There laid in one of the corners of the library, the book of his childhood, "Journey to the West." A great tale in which he adored the main character of the story, Sun Wukong. Though, he would never admit this in his adult life.
As the little boy read the journey, he was angered when the Monkey King was rejected from the Celestial Palace, excited when he faced the Buddha, and then disappointed when he was sealed.
It was unfair, to be labeled as a monkey and rejected by the world in which he was born, incapable of changing anything.
He read, and he read, and he read, to complete all 100 chapters of the story, he snuck out every night that dawned upon the clan.
Until the day he left the Zen'in clan, he never truly finished the book.
He never viewed the ending, wherein the Monkey King became the Victorious Fighting Buddha.

And so, he paid dearly for the price.

Gojo's palm thrust forward, faster than any bullet on Earth, crushing the face of a Sarkaz Greatswordsman. The soldiers around him hadn't even recognized that the white haired man had appeared in their front lines, as they continued to stare at where he was before.
His perfect figure encapsulated the form of the Buddha itself, as he simply looked forward with slightly tense eyes.
'Too slow...' Gojo put more strength into his entire arm, bringing a great force to push the Sarkaz into the crowd of Reunion soldiers.
