Sunday. Summer 28: Dance of the Moonlight Jellies
I wake up earlier than usual on the last day of Summer. The grief of losing my grandfather really got to me last night. Sebastian came over to smoke with me and I ended up falling asleep on the couch after he left.
Shiloh meowed all night due to the fact that I never came into the room but he eventually got the point and laid with me on the couch. It's a clear sunny morning. The air is crisp and a small breeze is rolling through due to Fall starting tomorrow.
I watered my plants and fed all my animals. I gave Shiloh food and water before jumping in the shower. After my shower, I blow dry my hair and curl it loosely. The Dance of the Moonlight Jellies is tonight. People say it pretty romantic but I'm just looking forward to being at the beach late at night.
I put on a long sleeve black shirt with a white skirt, black knee high socks and my Mary Janes. I walk out of my house and head to Pierre's for some seeds for Fall. It's gotten a little hotter while the day goes by. I walk into Pierre's to see Abigail and Caroline stocking some shelves.
"Hey guys!" I say with a smile. "Hey Eva! Are you ready for tonight? It's such a rare and exciting thing!" Abi says with a big smile. "Yes I am. I'm glad it's at night. I love being at the beach at night." I smile. "Good place to think I have heard." Caroline says and I nod with a little smile. "I agree."
"Me and Sam were talking about you and Sebastian could meet us in front of his house and we can walk together." Abigail says I nod. "Sounds like a plan. He usually is with me right now if he was sticking to his "bother me" schedule, but I guess he is working so I probably won't see him until we meet. But you should definitely text him and tell him that."
Abigail nods and looks over to the door that Pierre just walked through. He smiles at me and send me a little wave. "Hey Evangeline. My number one costumer," He always greets me the same way. "You are just in time. I just got off of my lunch break."
I order everything from Pierre's and go on about my day. I begin to walk to Clint's to bust the geodes that I got a few days back.
I wonder what the Moonlight Jellies are like. I can't wait to see them with everyone later. I wonder how Sebastian feels about them. He isn't really the type to think things are 'pretty'.
I shrug off the thought as I walk into the door of Clint's. "Hey Clint. Got a few-" I look up and pause. Sebastian stands there is a black shirt, of course his black zipper jacket, unzipped, black jeans, and black boots.
"Oh hey, what are you doing here?" I smile. He is nervously chewing on his lip ring. "My mom needed some stuff for a project she is working on." He speaks with a grogginess to his voice. Clint finishes helping Sebastian and then takes my geodes. I look over at Sebastian who is looking at the ground.
"Did you just wake up?" I asked and he nods with a little nod. "I thought you were working this whole time. You usually are with me by now." "If you wanted to see me that bad, just say that." I roll my eyes at Sebastian, who is smirking in my direction. "Get real." "No, I was doing my work for today so I could hang out with you before the festival but I guess I slept too long."
I stand there for a second, blinking my eyes. Did he just say that? He definitely did. I try to make it look like he didn't and just shrug it off with a joke.
"Sounds like you wanted to see me so bad." Sebastian laughs a little. "Well, there usually is nothing better to do." I smile at him. "Go back home and get some more sleep. I can tell you weren't ready to get up. I can wait to see you." I joke and he laughs. "Sir yes sir. See ya." He salutes with two fingers before walking out of Clint's.
