Saturday Spring 13: The Egg Festival

Shiloh has already gotten used to getting up at 6 with me every morning. He is basically my alarm clock. I wake up to him licking my face and pushing his head against mine. "Okay Shiloh, I'm awake." I say pushing his little head away from mine. I rub my eyes and sit up.

I bought a couple of decorations for my house yesterday, including a tv for my room. I click the tv on to check the weather for tomorrow. It will be raining sadly. Shouldn't stop me from working. That just means I won't have to water my crops tomorrow. I turn the tv off and lay back down, rolling over to face Shiloh, who is already looking at me.

"You hungry?" I ask him and he pushes his head to my cheek. "Sometimes I think you can understand me." I say, getting out of bed. I just throw on a bra and a pair of jeans that I can work in. I have to get all my work done before 9 so I can go to the Egg Festival on the square. They aren't letting anyone in town until it starts but I don't have any geodes for Clint to break or anything to buy right now so I should be fine. I go ahead and feed Shiloh before walking outside on the farm.

Lavender Farm has really turned my life around for the better. Stardew Valley has done even more for me. I can't remember the last time I had so many friends and people to just interact with.

Everyone in the city was always too busy with working and getting to where they need to be. Rushing through their day just like how their minds race about their work. I don't like to think about it too much.

"Eva!" I look up from the crops I'm watering. "Abi, what are you doing here so early?" I ask her as she walks up to me. "I wanted to get ready for the Egg Festival with you. Are you almost done?" I nod my head. "Basically." I say, watering the last of my crops. "Good, go shower and I will be here playing with Shiloh." Abigail says and I laugh with a nod. We begin to walk to the house.

After my shower, I decided to wear a nice yellow button down with a black skirt. I put on ankle socks that roll down with frillies on them, and of course, my Mary Janes. I do my makeup and let my hair fall naturally, brushing my bangs out. I walk out of the bathroom and Abigail sits on the couch, petting Shiloh who is napping in her lap. She watches tv and looks up at me when I walk into the living room. "You look so pretty. You ready to go?" She says and I nod. Abigail carefully picks up Shiloh, moving him to my bed.

I decide to leave my bag, considering I won't need it for anything. We walk talking about the festival. "Not to brag or anything, but I win the egg hunt every year." She says and I laugh a little. "Is that so?" I ask and she nods. "Something about hunting for eggs makes me really happy." "I never really went egg hunting growing up. I was a really shy kid so it doesn't really surprise me that I didn't." I say and Abigail looks over at me.

"Really? I thought everybody done that." I shrug. As we get into town, I see how it is decorated in different pastel colors. "It's so pretty." I say with a smile. She nods. "Oh there is Sam. Go find Sebastian." She waves me off and I nod. I walk around the square, saying hi to whoever says hi to me. I see a tall figure dressed in a black hoodie, black jeans, and black boots. There he is.

I walk over to Sebastian, "Hey." I say with a smile. "Oh hey." He says, putting his phone away. "Did you just get here?" He asked and I nod. "Abi went to go get Sam." I explain and he nods. "Alright." Sebastian sighs out. I stand up on the balls of my feet, leaning slowly back down to my heels.

I'm not sure why it is so awkward for us to be in the same area together alone. We eventually find something to talk about but those first few minutes fell like an eternity. And eventually Sam or Abigail interrupts.
