"Waahhhhhhhh" Tasmin cried throwing her hands around.
"You promised that you'd get me hot Biriyani once you get back from college. Does this look like a hot Biriyani to you?" Tasmin pointed at me with a pout on her angelic face and threw her little hands up exasperated.
I bit my lips and looked over to Regina. Now what did she have to say to that? The devil had kneeled down next to the little angel and sported the most apologetic look I had seen on her face.
God the power this little bugger had on her!
"She might not be a Biriyani but ain't she hot though? Perdonami, Angioletta~ Just this once?" Regina begged catching Tasmin's chubby hands between her own. Tasmin was Regi's one and only baby sister and hence had her wrapped around her little finger.
Tasmin came into Regi's life when she was sixteen. And even with such a huge age gap between them, they were like Fred and George. Inseparable.
I shifted from one foot to the other. Feeling uncomfortable and filthy. No matter how much I hated ruining their sweet moment together I couldn't wait to take a long bath. And probably sleep.
Yeah now that the thought crossed my mind, my body took the opportunity to remind me of how tired I was. I couldn't shake myself off the drowsiness that started to envelop me.
Regina's eyes were full of concern as they briefly skimmed over my body. Her gaze was not heated as usual. Just soft and probing.
"Fine. I'll let it slide just this once since it's Abby. No more second chances for you, Polpetta. Hey Abby, why do you look so sad? Did Regi tease you again? Should I kick her butt for you?" Her pitch black eyes narrowed at Regina.
Oh friggin nuggets! I forgot to mention that Tasmin is Regina's stepsister! Makes sense right? Or else how could they be so different from each other.
So long story short, her parents got divorced when she was thirteen. Rachel (Regina's mother) remarried (Regina's stepfather Adithya) a few years years later bringing along Tasmin (her stepsister).
Regina's father (Daichi) wasn't so lucky in the love department. He lives with his daughter (Regina) and Tasmin occasionally came to visit them since she was way too attached to Regi.
Daichi was barely home, always busy with work. That was one of the main reasons as to why Regi almost lives with us in our home.
"No Capo. I'm just tired from school. It has nothing to do with your sister. Can we go upstairs now? I need to take a bath before I go to sleep" I gave Tasmin a tired smile.
"Sure Abby. I know school can be tough but you've got this." She gave me a thumbs up and the brightest smile she's got.
I mumbled a thanks and climbed up the stairs dragging my feet with me. I could hear footsteps following me but didn't mind them.
As soon as I reached Regina's room I ran to the bathroom. I closed and locked the door before stripping down. I turned the shower on and stayed under the shower till I felt my muscles relax.
I scrubbed off their touches and looks and wrapped a towel around myself. When I reentered her bedroom, I saw her lying down on her bed, staring up at the ceiling lost in thought with a fresh set of clothes beside her.
She scrambled up when she saw me and handed over the pair of clothes. "I'll wait outside while you change. Call me once you are done or if you need anything, 'kay?" Wait while I changed? That was new.
Her thoughtfulness let loose a flurry of butterflies aa they danced around in my stomach. I mumbled out an okay and a thanks, pushing her out of her own room.
I held the clothes closer and took a sniff at the mixed smell of sandalwood and the lingering smell of Regina. I closed my eyes and stayed like that for a while.
Her clothes were too big on me but it also made me feel protected. Just like her presence made me feel safe. The silk shirt was both soft and comfortable, reaching upto my mid-thighs. And the matching shorts stopped short just off of my knees.
I opened the door and let her back in. "Uhh you can take a nap now. I'll call you for dinner. You could stay the night here. That is if you don't mind. I mean I thought you'd like that. If you don't you could always go back home. I'll drop you bac-"
"Where's Sam?" I cut her off mid sentence. She seemed to keep on rambling not knowing what to say and I didn't do well with conversations. I shouldn't have asked her about Sam when she was being so considerate of me.
"I texted her while you were changing. She said she'll be here in a few minutes, don't worry sweetheart. She wanted to make sure you were safe and comfortable before heading back home." A tear rolled down my cheek at the thought of how much they cared for me. How could I ever choose between the two of them?
"Sshh don't cry baby, don't cry. It breaks my heart to see you cry." Her hands went up to wipe away the tears that were now streaming down both my cheeks.
She pulled me towards the bed and crawled onto it. She leaned against the headboard, cradling me like a baby. I lay down my head resting on her chest, her heartbeat forming a smooth rhythm. Her chest heaved up and down rocking me slowly to sleep.
"Hey is she okay now? I ran a bit late because I had to vote for a disciplinary action against them. Didn't want them let off the hook. And by the way I also cut Lana's hair like you said before the authorities came. I threatened to add more charges against her if she complained about it to the authorities. And what we talked about in the classroom. Are you serious about it? 'Cause I wouldn't mind shari-" A voice kept whispering near my head lulling me further into deep sleep.
This is where I belong. I felt it before I knew it. I was no longer able to avoid the truth as the bond became too strong to deny.
