Abigail's POV
A cold wind blew through the curtains. It was still dark outside. I rubbed my eyes and stretched my body as it shivered under the cold. I felt something warm stuck to my torso.
"Where do you think you're going? Lie down a little longer." Regina groaned and pulled me closer towards her.
"Look at the time. We've got to head downstairs before mom leaves. Or else we're going to miss seeing her before she goes to work. I rarely see my mom nowadays." I gently push her away from me and roll down the bed. "Come downstairs? I'll be waiting." I added and scurried out of the room.
I reached downstairs to find mom in the kitchen. "Hey sweetie. Good morning. Did you sleep well?" My mom asked as she packed her tiffin.
She worked hard at a hospital to raise her three daughters all alone. My elder sister, Keyzel, was doing final year of Business Management in Germany. She has gotten so distant that we rarely talk or chat with each other. She only has contact with mom.
Then there's Brook studying Veterinary at Westerley. And finally me who has got no ducking clue as to what to do after I graduate highschool.
My mom even took night shifts to support us. Our so-called piece-of-a-shit father left us for another woman. But mom never made us feel unwanted or sad.
I didn't want to keep Regi and Sam a secret, but I was scared of disappointing her.
"Yeah I slept well. You leaving already?" I pouted looking down at the floor. I missed her a lot.
"Hey hey hey! Look at me. I'll come back early today, okay? Now come here. Give me a hug." I ran towards her open arms.
"Should I come back later?" Regi asked with an eyebrow raised. My mom just opened her arms wider in reply.
After a few seconds of group hug, mom pulled us away from her. She looked me from head to toe and then looked over at Regina. This was repeated a few times. Weird.
"Be safe kids. Always be careful when you have sex. Don't forget to check if you all are clean. I don't know if you know this but STDs can be given from one to another even during a homosexual intercourse." My mom said to us with a poker face.
My mouth fell open while Regina chuckled. "Ma!" I called out in embarrassment. Regina just gave her a 'yes ma'am' and a dramatic salute in return.
"What? Don't think that I don't know that something's going on between you two. I'm your mom. I know things even before you know them yourself. All those love bites and marks across your skin and you believe me to stay dumb? Uh-huh. Yeah right." She shook her head while giving my shoulders a pat.
"Well Sam, Abby and I are in a relationship. I hope you'll give us the green light." Regi asked in all seriousness. Hellfire! How could she say that all of a sudden?!
Mom let out a sigh. "It's your life, girls. Live it like you want to. My baby's happiness is all that matters to me. Just don't break her heart." My eyes watered at her words.
Once everything was out in the open, it felt as if a huge stone was lifted off my chest. "Thank you ma. I love you!" I hugged her again.
"I love you more. Alright now. I've got to go or else I'll be late. Get back to bed and sleep some more. It's barely four. Tchüssie (Bye)" She said as she gave my forehead a long kiss.
"Tschüss. Bis bald. (Bye. See you soon)" I replied back. My mom's brother lives in Germany and she started picking up german words from Keyzel and Uncle Fred. She has also deemed it her mission to pass those words down to me. It's a recent hobby of hers.
