Vincent and Ambrose headed outside onto the balcony as they talked about each other's past and what they had been up to for the last twenty years.
Evangeline and I sat on one of the couches and had our own conversation. I knew she was dying to talk to another girl as she mentioned that she's been living with Ambrose and the guys in an apartment.
I couldn't imagine sharing an apartment with rockstars that like to play their music loud and use the place as a recording studio.
"If they do end up touring I would just stay at the apartment," she says.
"What if you come to New York? It's only like a three hour drive or an hour flight away," I say, suggesting the idea.
"Is that where you and Vincent are living right now?" She asks, arching an eyebrow.
I shake my head. "No, actually. He's still in Holbeck with his dad. I share an apartment with...my boyfriend, River."
Her eyes widened a bit. "Oh, I'm sorry. I thought you were with Vincent this entire time. You guys look quite close," she says, her cheeks turning red out of embarrassment.
"Can I actually be honest?"
She nods her head. Her ears fully perked up like a curious pup. I look outside for a second and notice that the two boys are still engaged in a deep conversation, the balcony door closed to give them their own privacy.
"I've been thinking a lot about Vincent and I together. I know that at the wedding I told him something different, but having him here and keeping me from feeling alone has changed things emotionally," I say, nervous about sharing my thoughts out loud. "I didn't realize how much I missed him when it's just the two of us and we can actually communicate without fighting."
"I'm assuming you guys broke up and he wanted another chance?" She asks.
"Well he never actually asked me to be his girlfriend, but I did feel like I was his at times. He felt like he wasn't good enough for me in the end so we parted ways and he just never left Holbeck. I met River on the first day of my classes and then we just clicked. River helped me move on and experience what Vincent should've done with me."
Evangeline gives me a sad smile. "I completely understand what you mean. My ex-boyfriend was a real piece of shit. Ambrose pulled me out of the dark and completely changed my way of living. I don't think I could ever let him go. He's going to be stuck with me until we die," she says with a chuckle.
"At least one of us has it all figured out, huh?"
"I think you and Vincent will eventually figure it out. Your relationship won't change overnight nor will you get answers you deserve either. It took some time for Ambrose to be open with me and it wasn't until our first real fight that I found out I hadn't really learned everything about him."
