"You don't have a more... quiet place." The two understood, Cale wanted a discreet place. Cage frowned again.
"Of course, young master we have a room in an inn not far from here." Taylor put one of his hands on Cage's who was pushing him to reassure her.
Once the room was reached, the three of them sat down in the living room.
"What do you want to tell us?" Cage couldn't see any good things coming from this young master and wanted to finish quickly to join the road to the capital.
"I know about the ancient power you were looking for by coming here but it's no use, I already got it back- Let me finish." Cale could already see Cage starting to get angry again, he couldn't blame him but still didn't let him do it.
"But it would have been useless, power does not heal old wounds but I know something else that could help you."
"How could we believe you?!" Cage was really angry how this man dares to trample on Taylor's last hope, after all he has been through he has the right to happiness!
"The crown prince has an ancient power that can heal everything even wounds like yours. Find something he wants in exchange and you could get your life back." Cale ignored Cage's words, she would never believe him anyway why bother?
"You seem well informed about everything young master Cale." Taylor said it suspiciously and well again Cale expected it.
Unfortunately it's true, I was hoping you'd believe me... I'd rather not use it..." He said it seriously, this power was difficult to handle both physically and mentally and he'd really rather not use it as much as he currently does.
"Why would you want to help us?" Even though his words were really interesting, he couldn't think of a real reason for this young master to help him without expecting anything in return, it could be a trap.
"Well there are two reasons, first I knew you were looking for this power to heal yourself and I took it from you, I'm not that cruel so I found you something to replace it. Then I saw your death-" Cage stood up with a dagger in his hand against Cale's neck.
"You work with that bastard and you came to mock us!" Cage couldn't believe the audacity of this person! But she won't let her friend die, she would even kill a noble for it no matter the consequences.
Cale didn't move, he was just glad no one was with him...
"I would never work for Venion, I would rather see him dead." He was honest about it, he was an unimportant person to him, plus he could only be classified as evil and with what he had done to the black dragon he clearly deserved to die.
"How do you know then?" Taylor asked calmly, he was a little shocked by the sudden announcement of his death but he had expected it for a long time with his condition and his brother trying to kill him.
"I'll show you." Cage and Taylor didn't had time to ask a question, time was distorted around them.
"Please don't touch anything." Cale warned Cage who tried to touch the distorted air around them, she immediately withdrew her hand.
"That goes for you too." Taylor nodded.
"What's going on?" Cage moved away from him taking his place next to Taylor.
"A power, it allows me to see the past and the future." He closed it, he had trouble concentrating to maintain the scene and especially make it appear.
"As I told you, I saw your death an assassin waiting for you in the temple of the god of death in the capital. I know you had planned to hide there."
"Yes it is the case I thought this path would be on..." Cage could not believe that she was responsible for the death of her friend. She could feel Taylor's hand on her shoulder.
"I'm sorry Taylor..." She started to sob, unfortunately she couldn't ignore what was in front of her, even if she would have preferred it.
"Don't worry, I would never blame you." Taylor should rather thank her and apologize for the burden he represented for her. Of course, he wouldn't say it out loud otherwise he would get reprimanded.
"Taylor!" Cage looked at him angrily maybe he was thinking too hard.
He was saved by the scene that finally appeared. They were in one of the corridors of the temple of the god of death. Just the sight of these white corridors made Cage feel nauseous.
Their silhouettes appeared at the end of the corridor, the two were talking as usual. They walked calmly, without thinking that they were in danger but they could see an assassin dressed in black hiding in one of the dark corners of the hallway, a dagger in his hand. It didn't take a genius to understand what was going to happen, they didn't want to see it.
"Can you stop him? We believe you." Cage asked, she wanted to look away but she was unable to.
"I'm sorry, I can't control him. I understand that it can be difficult but there's really nothing I can do." Cale truly understood seeing the death of one of his loved ones was the worst pain in the world.
Taylor took Cage's hand back by squeezing it, to remind him that he was with her and that this scene is not something real and will not be their future either.
As they had expected the hidden assassin threw his knife directly into Taylor's heart. Who bled out in a few seconds. The Cage in the scene was crying holding her friend against her, the assassin was already gone, only Cage remained with the power of the god of death at her fingertips trying without success to save her friend, in her grief she didn't even notice that it was already too late.
The Cage who was watching this was also crying with tears flowing abundantly down her face.
Even for Cale, it was hard, he could see himself, with Lee soo hyuk and Choi jung soo the situation was not quite the same but close too close. He could already feel the feelings of mourning and sorrow that were overwhelming him once the scene was over. He would have preferred to take the pain of the scene rather than the feelings he had been trying to ignore for so many years. Luckily for him, he could finally feel the fatigue rising, well this could finally end.
The scene stopped on a Cage who had finally realized the state of his friend and anger appeared on his face.
Cale sank a little deeper into the couch, he shouldn't fall asleep now, he had to finish this conversation first and return to the inn.
