"For the Imperium, for Earth!
For survival, this fight is worth.
For the Imperium, For Earth!
Humanity will no longer live in fear.We are the Corps of the Guards!
We shall never surrender!
Never shall we stop
The fight against Chaos.Long is the night, the shadows will creep
Along the border, chaos seeks
Human men and women
To kill and eat
For their heretical feasts. For the Imperium, For Earth
For Survival this fight is worth
For the Imperium, For Earth!
Humanity will no longer live in Fear! They will stand, not one shall tire
Fighting the foes of the Emperor
The forces of Chaos weep
When met with the Guard CorpsWe Stand
We Fight
We March
We Defend! For the Imperium, For Earth
For survival this fight is worth
For the Imperium, For Earth
Humanity shall no longer live in Fear!"- "For The Imperium, For Earth!", anthem of the Guard Corps.
The Hildani reactions to the Imperium were mixes of rage and fear as they recalled what happened years ago. The call for 1.5 Billion Hildani to enlist across the entire planet was sent out, and 1 Billion enlisted against the 1.2 Billion human Armed Personnel, including all three branches of Navy, Army, and Intelligence. The Hildani Forces dug in around the city of Fursk near the Frontline and waited.
Their wait did not disappoint as TAF (Terran Armed Forces) slammed into the lines, almost breaking them but the Hildani Soldiers stood in defiance against the human scum. The voices of Hildani men and women screamed out in retribution, "Never Again!" As they pushed back the humans. Plasma bolts going past their heads. The Hildani held the line against overwhelming odds. Intelligence was wrong. It was not 1 Billion Human Soldiers, it was 2 Billion. 1.5 Billion humans slammed into the lines again. This time the line cracked in some places but not one piece of it was broken, standing firm like a pole of Titanium, never breaking, never surrendering. Eventually the Humans retreated undercover of artillery fire from the Hildani artillery positions.
A few days later the humans, still licking their wounds from the last battle, bombarded the city with Orbital Cannons. The city was reduced to its foundation quite quickly as forces called "Metal Soldiers" were deployed to the battlefield. Metal Soldiers were the nickname for a new robot variant produced by the company Cordival Limited. They were equipped with built in guns that could shoot 100 rounds a minute. The were a lot cheaper and expendable then Human Soldiers, especially with the Hildani dug in.
With the Metal Soldiers deployed to the battlefield, the Hildani were taking more casualties then normal. The initial battle was met with success as the lines broke and the Hildani fled into the city, starting a series of house to house fighting inside the destroyed city. The battle was even worse as explosions could completely collapse buildings on top of the inhabitants. The battle ended 30 days later with casualties in the 100 millions. The Hildani Combined Armed Forces (HCAF) began retreating back to the city of Eclipse, a city deep within the heart of the Amerie Forest. A series of urban warfare and guerilla warfare battles ensued within the city and forest as the TAF were not able to receive very good air support while they were deep within the forest, not to mention the canopy cutting off or at the very least making it hard for the signal to get through the thick leaves of the trees that hid them from the sun, making the forest dark 24/7.
A battalion of Terran Infantry disappeared in the forest during the battle. The entire battalion, gone. The last radio heard from them was, "Encountered enemy forces, engaging."
Ten minutes later the battalion radioed in again.
"Requesting assistance! What the hell are these things!"A division of heavily armored troops were dispatched to the area where the radio signal came from but the area was clear, no signs of a battle or even a plasma burn on the trees or rocks. A small search party was dispatched but due to the battle they could not continue their search after two weeks.
More paranormal things began to happen like soldiers telling command that they see ghosts or soldiers just going plain insane for no reason. The battle ended with Human withdraw. The city continued to be bombarded by bombers and artillery, however.
A massive naval vessel managed to be shot down and reverse engineered. While yes, the Hildani were able to travel in space, they didn't have the capacity even close to the Human abilities. Production began on a superweapon known as "RockKiller."
The Hildani began their first offensive to retake Fursk from the Terran Imperium.
The Hildani began their charge against Fursk four weeks after the initial battle ended. While artillery and gunfire could be heard, the Terran General made a valiant speech.
"My comrades. We stand on the brink of collapse. If we lose this battle, this world, we could lose other worlds to rebels who deny the technology and power we give them, as well as the honor to server the Imperium. For far too long have we left this planet to its own devices. Now is the time to strike!
If you are hesitating, unsure about wether you will charge into the coming battle, think of your family. You are brothers, fathers, sons, daughters, sisters, mothers! If we lose this world suddenly Earth becomes an even more vulnerable target for the forces of chaos that attempt to destroy our race. This is not a fight for the sake of conquering an xeno race, this is a fight for our survival! So charge into the Hildani, meet them outside the city, and push them back, force them to their Capitol, and make them surrender! To Rech City!"
The crowd then changed afterwords
"To Rech City!"
Casualties were in the 100 millions that day.
