Chapter 6

Elena POV

I sit in my office waiting for the meeting to start. I look down at my watch and see that I still have to wait ten minutes. Dammit! I hate waiting.

"Who was she?"

I mutter to myself.

I turn on my computer and log in. I open up Google and look up Damon Montgomery. Once it's done loading, I look at all of the images of him. They all are pictures of him and business partners. This is not going to be easy.

I sigh when I hear a knock on the door. I pick up my stuff and head towards the door. When I open the door, he's right by my side.

"Shall we?" 

He says cooly.

I storm off into the conference room and wait for the meeting to begin. Damon enters a minute later and sits in the seat across from me. I finally look up, when I feel him glaring me.

"Stop it!"

I glare back at him. He now has an amused grin on his face. Damn. He looks good. Stop it!

"What's wrong?"

He says back at me innocently. But before I can respond, the door opens and the meeting begins. Finally!

The meeting took a half an hour and Damon was really acting like a dick. The man just wanted to tell him a problem that he had with the company and Damon was terribly mean. Why does he have such a cold demeanor?

I've been sitting in my office for a long time and I'm starting to get bored. What else am I suppose to do at this job? I decide to go and ask Damon. But when I open my door, I realize that's he's on the phone.

"Make sure you follow her and make sure that I don't see her again!"

He must be talking about that girl from earlier. He has a dark look on his face, then he looked up and realized that I was in the room with him.

"What do you want?"

He asks emotionless

"Who the hell is that lady?"

"You don't need to fucking know!"

He looks funny when he's angry. I laugh out loud.

"What's so funny?"

"You! You look hilarious! I'm sorry, but I can't help it."

He looks truly lost, with a mixture of sadness. I still have a smile on my face.

"Go get yourself some lunch. I'll call you if I need you."

The smile on my face disappears and I begin to head out. Just as I'm about to exit, I turn back to look at him.

"Do you want any anything?"

He just simply shakes his head

Why did his mood change so fast?

Damon POV

I stand there completely lost and sad.

Elena reminds me of her.
