Chapter 7

Elena POV

After lunch, I head back to the office. Why was he so sad? I go up to the office, but I'm stopped by the main secretary.

"I'm sorry to disturb you Elena, but Mr.Montgomery has left early today and said that he left a pile of work for you to do on your desk."

"Thanks."

I open the door and go to my desk area. Did I do something to him? I go through all of the papers and get my stuff ready for all of the meeting tomorrow. I log off of my computer and lock the office doors, before exiting the building.

It was unusually quite. I always thought it was louder around this time in the office. I decide to think it was nothing and head home.

As I unlock the door to my house, I see Carter coming back from his run.

"Hey sis."

"Hey. How was your run? I might have to go with you next time."

We both laugh. He know that I don't have time to go and exersice.

"It was good. It's nice seeing the place where you've been living at all this time."

We both walk in the door and I begin to make dinner. Carter sits down at the island, while I make pasta.

"Is everything alright Elena?"

I sigh, he can always tell if I'm not at my best.

"I'm just really stresses about work."

"Maybe you should take a break and go out on a date. I can tell its been a while."

"Firstly, I just started the job. I don't need a break. Secondly, I would love to go out, but I want to find the perfect guy."

"Ok, but we should hang out. Could we go somewhere tonight?"

"Sure where do you want to go?"

"We could go to the park and get ice cream after dinner."

"Ok."

I've missed him so much. It's nice being with him again. After dinner, we walk to the park and get ice cream. He gets vanilla, I get cookies and cream. The sun is setting and it looks breathtaking.

I really do want to go out on dates, but who would want to put up with me. It makes me sad, thinking that I might never get married to the perfect guy. It makes me sad thinking that I might not get to have my dream wedding.

"Elena, you have no need to worry about anything. You'll find the man of your dreams and you'll have the perfect life. I'll always support you."

He always know what exactly to say. I give his arm a tight squeeze.

"Thanks Carter. How's it really going? Did something happen between you, mom and dad?"

"I got in a fight on the baseball team. Someone made fun of you, they said you got pregnant, so that's why you left us. I hit the kid who said it and I got kicked off the team. So I lost my scholarship. Mom and dad were furious, dad hit me."

He looked liked he was about to cry. He actually stood up for me.

"I'm so sorry Carter. Are you okay?"

"I would do anything for you sis. Even if it means getting kicked off the team."

We give eachother a hug. I start crying, I can believe he would do that for me. I can't believe dad would hit him. That dick.

"Let's go home."

When we get home, I see Ana's car. She was probably on a date tonight.

"You can go to your room Carter. I can clean up. Goodnight."

"Goodnight sis."

Then I'm left alone to clean up. After cleaning up, I turn on the vampire diaries. Team Damon all the way! Shortly after, I pass out on the couch.

Hoping that the next day would be better than today.
