Chapter 4

Elena POV

"Carter?"

He turns around and shock takes over his face.

"Elena!"

He runs up to me and gives me a huge hug. I've missed him so much.

"I'm so sorry for leaving. Please forgive me."

I feel my eyes water. He wipes away the tears.

"I'll always forgive you. I came here looking for you."

"How did you find me?"

"I looked you up on the internet. Hoping that I could find something on you. I did and here I am."

We continue to hug each other, then I hear someone cough in the background. I look up and remember my boss is still here. Shit! I let go of Carter.

"Mr.Montgomery this is my brother, Carter."

They both shakes hands.

"It's a pleasure meeting you Mr.Montgomery."

"The pleasure is all mine and please call me, Damon."

I actually see him smile. I didn't know that was humanly possibly.

"I'm going to get my coffee. Would you guys like anything?"

"I'd like a muffin sis." 

Carter smiles at me. Then I look at Damon.

"I'd like a muffin as well."

He smirks at me and I feel my heart melt. I thought he wanted coffee. I head over to the counter and get everything they asked for, including stuff for me. They're both seated at a table.

"Here you go."

I pass out everything and I feel a shock when my hand touches Damon's. I pull back immediately, so does he. I look around and laugh. They both look at me like I'm crazy. Carter's the first one to speak. I look at Damon.

"What's so funny?"

Carter asks patiently.

"Do you remember this scenery, Mr.Montgomery?"

"Shit. I didn't even remember."

He laughs to. This is where I called him a jackass and he called me a bitch. Then he looks at his watch.

"I have to go. Thanks for the company Carter. Elena, make sure your back at work in a half hour."

"Ok."

Then he leaves quickly. What was that about? I look at my brother and he's thinking the same thing. But right now we have Important stuff to talk about.

"Elena I was looking for you, because I have a question to ask you."

"What is it?"

"I need a place to stay, just for a little while. I'll pay you for all the expenses."

"What do mom and dad have to say about this?"

"I didn't tell them I left."

Shit!

"There going to have people searching for you like crazy!"

"Please Elena, I needed to get away from them. This is only temporary."

He looked at me with pleading eyes.

"Ok, but not for forever."

I call Ana and tell her to pick Carter up.

"My friends is coming to get you, she'll show you around the house. Please don't touch anything until I get home. Promise?"

"Promise."

We both hug each other one more time and I start to head back to work. When someone calls my name.

"Mrs. Richards!"

I turn around and recognize the driver. It's Damon's personal driver. I walk up to him.

"I've been requested by Mr.Montgomery to give you a ride to work."

He opens the door for me and I enter.

Why is Damon being so nice to me all of a sudden?
