Chapter 1

Elena POV

I wake up to my annoying alarm clock and I remember that today I start my new job. It's been three months since I left my parents and I don't miss them. I left during my brothers banquet for baseball. He's the team captain and I miss him dearly. I wanted to have a fresh start and this was the only idea I could think of. Leaving everything and everyone behind.

"Get up Elena! You don't want to be late for your first day of work!"

I get up and walk over to my window, it's pouring outside. Ana my roommate and best friend is the person I trust the most. She is the only person who hasn't fun of me and has excepted me that's all I ever wanted. Her parents bought us this apartment as a graduation present.

I decide on wearing a white blouse, black pencil skirt, and five inch heals. Before I head downstairs I quickly curl my hair. Once I'm downstairs, I sit down at the table.

"I wish you the best of luck with your new job."

"Thanks. I'm worried that I'll mess up."

"Don't be. With that outfit, no one would care if you mess up at all."

We both laugh together for a minute.

"Well I have to go if I want to be on time. Bye Ana, see you later."

I put on my jacket and head outside. I walk two blocks and I reach my favorite coffee shop. I chose to order a espresso and quietly wait for it to be done. When it's done I pick it up and turn around and run into a huge man. My coffee splashes all over me and my outfit.

"Watch where your walking girl!"

He says angrily.

"Excuse me jackass! You walked into me!"

"Well excuse me bitch, you should look around at your surroundings!"

He angrily leaves the building. A minute later I decide to leave and hail a taxi. I tell him the directions and pay him. Once I'm at the building I exit the car.

"Please let this be a good day."

I mumble quietly to myself.

I enter the building and reception tells me to go to the top floor. Once I find the elevator, I press the twentieth floor and wait till the door opens. When I get to the floor, I find another receptionist.

"Hi, I'm Elena Richards I'm here to see Mr.Montgomery. I'm his new assistant."

"Please wait. He'll only be a minute."

She smiles brightly at me. I decide to sit down. A minute later I hear a door open.

"You again!"

He sounds pissed.

I look up and see the guy from the coffee shop.

"Shit."

I say quietly to myself.

I called my new boss a jackass.
