Yukari, Redmond, and Mira are getting ready to leave for the mall. Jaxson and Maxwell sit on the couch, watching them prepare.
(Mira): Alright, we're heading to the mall. Be good, you two!
(Redmond): Yeah, don't blow up the house or anything.
Yukari and Redmond share a laugh with Mira, who gives Jaxson and Maxwell a knowing smile. As Yukari, Redmond, and Mira leave, Jaxson and Maxwell make themselves comfortable in the living room.
(Maxwell): So, what should we do while they're out?
(Jaxson): How about we talk about Frost & Beam: Cold Steel Alliance?
Maxwell's eyes light up, clearly excited.
(Maxwell): Yes, I've been waiting for you to read it! Who's your favorite character?
(Jaxson): Well, I always liked Frost. He's got these incredible ice powers. I used to read it all the time at the orphanage.
Maxwell listens intently, realizing they share a common interest.
(Maxwell): Frost is awesome! But Beam's laser hands are pretty cool too. They make an unstoppable duo.
Jaxson's curiosity is piqued.
(Jaxson): You know, I've only read the first comic. I didn't even know there was a second one.
(Maxwell): The second one is even better! It's where they start to discover the full extent of their powers.
Jaxson's eyes light up with newfound excitement.
(Jaxson): I need to read it right now. Where is it?
Maxwell grabs the comic from a nearby shelf and hands it to Jaxson.
(Maxwell): Enjoy. It's a game-changer.
Jaxson eagerly flips through the comic. As he reads, his expression changes from surprise to realization.
(Jaxson): Wait a minute... Frost and Beam's powers... they're just like ours!
Maxwell's eyes widen as he grasps the implications.
(Maxwell): You mean, ice powers like Frost and laser hands like Beam?
(Jaxson): Exactly! We've got to test this out, Max. I want to see if we can do what they can do.
Jaxson and Maxwell stand in the backyard. Jaxson raises his hands, shooting laser beams from them, much to Maxwell's amazement.
(Maxwell): It's working! You're actually shooting laser beams!
Jaxson retracts his hands, his face filled with excitement.
(Jaxson): Now, your turn, Max. Try the ice powers.
Maxwell focuses, and a blast of ice emerges, encasing a tree branch.
(Maxwell): It worked! This is unbelievable!
Meanwhile, Abigail has been listening at the door, her expression a mix of surprise and concern. She enters the room, trying to act nonchalant.
(Abigail): How was your day, boys? Mira sent me here to watch you.
Jaxson and Maxwell exchange a look, realizing they've been caught in the act.
(Jaxson): Uh, , hey zia, we were playing around.
(Maxwell): Yeah, testing out our laser hands and ice powers.
Abigail's eyes betray her unease as she tries to put on a smile.
(Abigail): Well, as long as you're being safe. Powers can be unpredictable, you know.
Jaxson and Maxwell nod, sensing there's something more to Abigail's reaction.
As the conversation continues, it becomes clear that there are unspoken secrets and a sense of foreboding regarding their newfound abilities.
