Sun's Return

Ruins POV

I woke up with a jolt, something was wrong. My head started to hurt a bit so I got up to go get some water, after getting a glass full I went out of the bathroom that was attached to my room and sat on my bed. It's been about a month since Solars birthday party, Eclipse and I have been dating for a while now and I've been visiting everyone else often. War between Eclipse and the others had been different, there have only been a few banters because Moon still hates Eclipse's guts.

I tried to go back to sleep but that was an hour ago, my comfortability was gone. I decided to take a stroll in the castle, the oh so large and very quiet castle. As I walked down one of the hallways I noticed two of the maids and a male servant, they seemed to be talking so I didn't want to interrupt them. I started to walk up to them, they didn't notice but what I heard was unexpected.

"I hired him last week, I heard he can get the job done in an hour." I heard the male servant whisper to the girls, I was curious now and I hid behind a nearby wall to eavesdrop.

"Are you sure that's a good idea? What if he fails and we get caught? Lord Eclipse might kill us!" Maid 1 said a bit louder, her head shaking.

"Well it's better than staying here" the second maid said before I felt a large hand on my shoulder gently squeeze.

"Ruin dear? What are you doing out of bed at this hour?~" Eclipse spoke into my ear in a sweet whisper, I turned quickly in a startled manner.

"E-eclipse!" I said quietly hoping the others didn't hear, he was leaning down to be eye level with me, his hand retracting back to his side.

"Hmm?~" he peeked around the corner, his expression staying the same, Slightly curious. I looked around the corner as well and saw that the three were gone, I slightly gasped and looked up at Eclipse. He was staring at me.

"Th-there were some p-people! They were talking about something- l-like an assassination!" I blurted out in confusion and embarrassment.

"Hm~ you sure you're not just seeing things? It is quite late... how do I know you're not sleep walking?" Eclipse said in his low raspy/ sleepy voice, I started up at him and sighed.

"I know what I saw and heard! You can't say I was sleep walking because I'm wide awake right now!" He didn't change his expression, I looked down and started to fidget with my hands.

"Ruin" I didn't look up at him, instead I just looked away. I felt his hand grab my chin and pull my face up to his.

"I believe you, I think I may know who you're talking about but... that wasn't very much proof."He said tilting his head and seemingly examining my face, I scrunched my face and sighed again. pulling away, Eclipse stood up straight and started to walk past me, I realized he was still in his pjs.

"Let's get you to bed, you've been tired for the past week." He stopped right after me, I stayed standing and didn't face him. I felt frustrated at first but calmed down, he just didn't understand that his life was at risk.

"I haven't been able to sleep well" I stated, turning slightly to look at the back of his head.

"Go up to my room, I'll meet you there in an hour alright?" he said, turning, meeting my flickering gaze. I nodded and was about to walk away when eclipse grabbed my wrist and pulled me to him, gently grabbing my waist with the other, and giving me a passionate kiss before letting me go again. I walked away in a daze, my face slightly red. If someone heard that out of context they might assume that we were agreeing to do the naughty, of course that might just be my dirty mind.

After going up to his room I sat on his quite large bed. I felt slightly uncomfortable and nervous because I've never been in his room before. It was dark, with a lot of red design and no windows. I started to crawl to the middle before I got that headache again, this time it was worse. I had this strange feeling that something was deeply wrong and that Eclipse was not safe whatsoever, so I quickly bolted out of the room and down the hallways and stairs to see Eclipse by a balcony looking down at the floors below. He was fine, my mind was just being dumb. I sighed and was about to return to the bedroom when all of a sudden I heard a loud thud and a gasp, I turned around and past the wall to see Eclipse on the ground and-

"SUN?!" I blurted out, my eyes wide in surprise to see Sun. Who was presumed dead or mia, standing near Eclipse whose eyes were wide in surprise. A purple portal was sparkling behind Sun.

"Ruin?" Sun said, raising an eyebrow, I just stood there dumb founded.

"I thought you were dead?!" I said pointing at him, confused. Eclipse stood up and backed up to the balcony railing, seemingly stuck in thought.

"Oh yea, I forgot everyone just gives up on people when they go missing" Sun said non nonchalantly and looked annoyed.

"W-what?! No! We spent a whole YEAR! Looking for you-" I said, anger bubbling up.

"Only a year? Really? Tch- of course... whatever, it's not like anyone would care that i'm back." He said, I could see a flicker of sadness in his eyes.

"YES THEY WOULD! Especially Moon, he misses you every day Sun! He wishes you could come back he really does... What even happened? Where did you go?" I said panicked.

"And why are you here? Out of all places?"

Sun scoffed and looked at Eclipse who just looked confused

"First off... I ran away, because I was angry. Second, I started a cult- far from here... and third, I'm here because I was told that someone needs to be taken out" the last part he smirked at Eclipse, pulling a bat with nails into view.(It was hidden by his leg)

That's what the three servants were talking about earlier! I gasped and glanced at Eclipse who pushed himself off the railing towards me, Sun just smiled and swung the bat at the back of his legs causing a crack sound. I watched as oil spilled out staining his pants, I lunged towards him and landed in front of him. Sun smirked and started to walk forward, I tried to pull Eclipse up to carry him.

"Give up Ruin, or you'll have to go as well." Sun said menacingly, I started to panic. Warm tears started to roll down my face as I struggled to pull Eclipse, he was stunned but trying to move his legs.

"N-NO! Why are you doing this?! What did he do to you?" I begged, he just looked annoyed and stepped closer. I fell backward, Eclipse grabbed me and with scared eyes he pulled me closer.

"Ruin, Run. Please" I heard him mumble under his breath, I gasped.

"No! I'm not leaving you here to die!" I got up and stood in front of Eclipse who staggered to a standing pose, one of his legs too injured to walk on. I felt him put some weight on me, Sun was close now and just watching our struggle.

"Well, we're gonna fight huh?" He chuckled and took a step closer, bat in hand and glared at me. He started to run forward, ready to swing at my head when I felt Eclipse wrap his arms around my waist and pick me up.

Eclipses POV

I grabbed Ruin and used what energy I had left, pulling both of us over the balcony railing. It was only a story up to the entrance, so It won't be that fatal. I saw Sun's face as I lept weekly over the ledge, he was shocked that I could even walk. I held Ruin tightly against me making sure I would hit the ground first, I could feel his tears and I could sense the amount of fear.

I hit the ground with a cracking thud, which knocked the wind out of me. Everything was starting to go dark, until I felt a hand on my face.

"E-Eclipse please! We need to go!" Ruin pleaded, I forced myself to stay turned on. I could feel him pulling at my body, his sad pleases and shaky voice made me want to just shut off. I heard him gasp, and I redirected my attention to Sun who had come down the stairs. He had his bat ready to swing, and a sickening smile spread across his face.

I looked back to Ruin and got an idea, quickly pulling him to me. I teleported us as far as possible and as close to Solar that I was allowed.

(after getting to know Eclipse a bit more Solar convinced moon to undo some barriers so that Eclipse could teleport Ruin there and back quicker)
