Deepest Cuts

Chapter 1

Hello all! this is my first time uploading a fic (let alone write one) I'm only 13, so if you like it I might not be able to get a second chapter out right away (bc of school) but I hope you enjoy and let me know if you want another chapter!

                                                                                  Third person POV 

Toothless' wings cramped as he dodged another bolder, Toothless groaned in response.

"I know bud, just a little longer, Astrid should have gotten Heather by now-" hiccup was cut off by another arrow shooting towards him. He adjusted Toothless' tail and they fell into a violent barrel roll.

"Argh!" Hiccup grunted as the arrow swept past his cheek, leaving him with a deep slice from his mouth up to the lobe of his ear. He clutched it with his sweaty palm and forced his leg to adjust Toothless' tail again and they began to plunge towards the waters below. The wind pushed past Hiccups hair, his hand still grasping the side of his face.

"HOLD ON TOOTHLESS-" As soon as he was close enough to the water, Hiccup shoved his prosthetic leg into the controls and they launched back up into the sky. The sharp movements and pressure of the air weighed Hiccup down and he collapsed onto Toothless' neck, only now Hiccup would let go of his cheek and reveal the oozing blood that stained his hands. He turned back to the ships, now seeing Stormfly and Windshear soar above and blast the last of the ships. Astrid hurriedly flew over to Hiccup seeing the pool of blood that had formed on the side of his face

"What the hell happened!? Are you okay!?" Astrid frantically asked and she emerged by Hiccup's side, Heather following with a small gasp as she too saw Hiccup's face.

"its nothing, it isn't that deep" Hiccup said with a forced smile. Astrid didn't seem convinced. Heather searched through her bag for a short moment.

"I think I might have some bandages in here somewhere..." she trailed off as she searched for a little longer. After a short pause, Heather pulled out a small coil of slightly off-white bandages.
"Will this work?" she asked, aiming her question at Hiccup.

"Really, it's okay it doesn't even hur-" Hiccup began but before he could finish a large net had been launched towards them and was hurdling through the air. Straight towards Astrid, neither of them had noticed yet.

"LOOK OUT!" Hiccup called. Toothless flew forward towards the net and let out a purple blast of plasma, destroying the net. Astrid and Heather would have been caught if Toothless didn't blast the net in time. Another wave of arrows was launched from a new ship emerging from around the corner. They were aimed at them, but this time Astrid saw them first

"WOAH" she called as Stormfly lurched backwards avoiding the arrows, but she had just moved out of the way. Now they were headed to Hiccup, and he didn't have enough time to react.
