Hiccup stared into the tip of the arrow as it spun in the air, his mind unable to react or even comprehend the situation. His reactive system seemed to fail, and he froze up, unaware of wat was to come. Before the arrow could reach him, he heard a loud screech from his left ear, he tried to look over but was distracted by the excruciating pain as it bloomed in the right side of his chest. The arrow pierced through his red tunic, and he could no longer feel the pain in his right cheek, the arrow now the priority of the situation. Hiccup fell limp and slipped from Toothless' saddle, now plunging down towards the ocean.

"HICCUP!" Astrid called as she dove after him, Stormfly trailing behind Toothless as he had been the first to react. Toothless let out a loud roar as he neared his falling rider, blood now soaking his armor and tinting it a deep red. Hiccup felt the warm liquid forming around his wound, the pain now returning as he slowly gained consciousness mid fall. The strong gusts of wind passing by his face was freezing, the pressure beginning to hurt. By now Toothless had reached Hiccup and grasped him with his feet and curled his wings around is rider. He must keep him safe. He had to keep him safe. That was his job. Protect. Windshear had let out her distress signal and hopefully the other riders would arrive soon, they had to. Stormfly dove down determined to get to Toothless in time, Astrid even more so. The ground neared at a rapid pace and if Stormfly didn't act now, Toothless and Hiccup would plunge into the rocky island below, and Astrid would never forgive herself, she already blamed herself for the accident, she was the one that dragged them out here anyway, she was the one that arrived late to Hiccup, and she was going to be the reason he died.

"STORMFLY! HURRY!" The nadder extended her legs out towards Toothless as he let out a roar to say, 'hurry up!'. Storfly's claws wrapped around the falling night fury just in time before he hit the ground and slowly lowered him to the grassy part of the island, Astrid desperate to check on Hiccup. Heather arrived at the scene not long after pointing towards the Gronkle, Monstrous nightmare and Zippleback headed towards them. Astrid leapt out of her saddle and imediately grabbed onto Toothless' wing attempting to open it, Toothless let her pry open his wings to reveal one Hiccup Haddock, covered in blood. Heather gasped again at the sight and Astrid Hurridely wrapped her arms around him and pulled him out.

"Hiccup! can you hear me? Please open your eyes!" she stammered out still holding onto him tightly

"What the hell happened!?" Snotlout exclaimed before turning his head to his cousin, his jaw dropping.

"W-what-" he began staring at his friend, still very much covered in blood. Heather chimed in,

"We were ambushed and.. well.." she turned back to Hiccup. Fishlegs arrived by Hiccup's side with his medical bag mubbling to himself

"Oh Thor! oh Thor! oh Thor!" Fishlegs screamed, unable to think clearly, still gawking at his bleeding friend infron of him.

"Fishlegs! do something!" Astrid yelled at him, concern and flear clear in her tone. For the first time in a long time Astrid Hofferson was scared, no, she was terrified, just like her friends. The voices began to fade and blur as Hiccup awoke from unconsciousness, his sight and hearing muffled. He tried to open his eyes, but any movement was like another arrow being stabbed into him. The pain returned once more and he thought he heard a scream, he couldn't tell who it was, but his best guess was himself. The warmth of the blood that spread over him no longer felt comforting, but burning. Burning his skin, the wound throbbing as more and more blood began spilling out onto the ground, creating a small pool next to the smaller one on the side of his cheek from the previous arrow.

He could feel arms around him, a clambering feeling against his skin. he wanted it to stop, everything, he wanted the hands to let go, the pain, the warmth, everything felt wrong. His body felt another sharp wave of pain radiate throughout his body, the voices disappeared as he fell back into the cold void.
