2 weeks passed and Ellie completely stayed out of Jade's way. She was leaving early or staying out. She was never home and Jade hated to admit it but missed the small banter they usually had or when Ellie would tell her how good her cooking is.
Jade started hanging out with Kate more while being free from schoolwork. Kate would always try to advance to something more, but Jade would always shut it down, saying she was not ready. Why. Jade doesn't know, she and Kate dated for a year and it was a pretty healthy relationship. But Kate eventually wanted to see other people so they ended things.
"So what do you wanna watch? Horror, Comedy?" Jade asked Kate going through her movies.
"How about Romance," Kate said with a smirk.
"Very funny. I'll put on a romcom." Jade said.
They put on the classic, 10 things I hate about you. The two would talk while watching the movie and eat popcorn. Kate slowly wrapped her arm around her. But halfway through the film, Ellie showed up.
"Hey, you've been out pretty late," Jade said curiously, moving out of Kate's reach, making her sigh softly.
"Yeah like it's any of your business. What are you..guys watching." Ellie said then sighed once she saw Kate who glared.
"Oh, we're watching 10 things I hate about you," Jade said.
"We could have watched any other movie but Jade loves this movie," Kate said passively.
"You said a romance movie," Jade said raising an eyebrow.
"Not an enemies-to-lovers trope. I hate those types of movies. Like what's the point of dating if they don't like each other in the beginning." Kate huffed crossing her arms and looking away like a child.
"Cause it shows that you can still like someone at their flaws. But I like that movie, it's one of my favorite romcoms, plus Julia Stiles is hot." Ellie said taking her jacket off.
"See Ellie get it, and so true that woman is gorgeous," Jade said watching her take her jacket off.
Kate rolled her eyes.
"You know what have fun watching the rest of the movie alone then. Goodnight." Kate said storming out.
Ellie couldn't help but chuckle. Jade furrowed her brows.
"That wasn't funny," Jade said putting her hands into her face and sighing heavily.
"Well, I just think it's pretty dumb to get mad over you liking an enemies-to-lovers movie. Do you like those types of movies a lot?" Ellie said curiously.
"I mean yeah they are just so much more passionate. I mostly read that trope since most movies don't do it justice. But I think Kate was mostly mad at the fact that I agreed with you on the very rare occasion." Jade said getting up and cleaning her mess.
"So what she was jealous," Ellie smirked.
"Maybe. I'm not her so I couldn't tell you." Jade said.
"I don't understand why though. We haven't even seen each other in weeks." Jade said.
"I could think of a reason why," Ellie said leaning against the wall watching Jade.
"We were drinking and nothing happened," Jade said looking at the girl.
"Did you want something to happen?" Ellie said stepping forward.
"I don't know," Jade said honestly.
"You don't know?" Ellie said.
"You are just frustrating and confusing. I have no clue what you're thinking. If you like me if you hate me. We hated each other before we started living together and now I just feel weird." Jade rambled.
"I never hated you. You just fucked me over and I couldn't get over it." Ellie said.
"How. I literally have done nothing wrong to you." Jade sighed.
"Mei's 14th birthday. Do you remember what happened?" Ellie said coldly.
"Oh. You're still mad about that." Jade said.
"Yes, dipshit. You out me in front of everyone when you were too scared to admit that you were also a lesbian. It's pretty fucked don't you agree." Ellie spat.
"I was scared okay. We were fourteen and I didn't want anyone to know and if my parents found out I would've been fucked okay. Not everyone has supportive parents." Jade said.
"I'm going to bed," Ellie muttered going into her room and shutting the door.
Jade sighed deeply. She did feel guilty for what she did. That probably was one of the worst things she could do to someone and now she's living with her.
Flashback
It was the last week of summer before the new school year as freshmen in high school. It was Mei Wu's 14th birthday party and she invited her friends and her two best friends Ellie and Jade. It was a fun party till the game 7 Minutes in Heaven was played. The bottle was spinning and landed on Ellie. Then a second spin landed on Jade.
"Okay, Jade and Ellie time for y'all to go in the closet. Have fuunnn." Mei said pushing the two into the closet and shutting it.
The two girls were pressed up against each other.
"Um Jade we don't have to do anything since you're-" Ellie said but Jade pressed her lips onto hers.
The two started to make out. Jade held Ellie's cheeks pulling her close as Ellie held into Jade's waist pulling her in as well. Kissing each other with more passion than one has ever experienced. It was like they never wanted these 7 minutes.
"Times up! Oh, what's going on." Lucas said opening the door wide open.
Jade quickly pushed Ellie off.
"Nothing. Just Ellie coping a feel but I'm no lesbian." Jade said thoughtlessly storming out.
Ellie was completely shocked, hurt, and betrayed. She felt so humiliated. Why would Jade do that to her? Tell everyone that and not tell the full truth.
"Ellie are you," Lucas said.
"Shut up I'm going home," Ellie said walking out.
After that Jade and Ellie never talked after that and so the rivalry began. Every class they had was a competition on who had the better grade. Every team they were on was who could win the most. A constant race between the two because they never want to admit their feelings toward each other.
