That evening, the cozy home of Wei Ying was filled with warmth and laughter as he dined with his twins. Jingyi and A-Yuan animatedly recounted their adventures at Toys Kingdom, their eyes sparkling with excitement. Wei Ying listened attentively, his heart full of joy at the sight of his children so happy and engaged.
As they finished their meal, Wei Ying helped his twins with their bath. The bathroom was filled with splashes and giggles as he playfully washed them and wrapped them in fluffy towels. After their bath, he tucked them into bed, kissing them goodnight and reading them a bedtime story. The serene night wrapped around them, a perfect end to a delightful day.
The following morning, as they were having breakfast, Wei Ying's older sister, Jiang Yanli, arrived at their home. She was full of enthusiasm and brought with her the promise of an exciting day out for the twins. "I thought it would be fun to take the kids shopping," she said. "Jin Ling is joining us, and we can all enjoy a day together."
Wei Ying agreed, knowing his sister's affection for the children and appreciating the opportunity for them to spend some quality time with their family. He watched as Yanli gathered Jingyi and A-Yuan, who were already bubbling with excitement at the prospect of another adventure.
At Jin's shopping mall, the atmosphere was vibrant and bustling with activity. The mall was adorned with festive decorations, making it a perfect setting for a family outing. As Yanli led her son the twins through the various shops, the children's eyes darted from one colorful display to another.
Meanwhile, Madam Lan was out for a leisurely shopping trip. She had been looking forward to a quiet day when she spotted Yanli in the distance. Her curiosity piqued, she made her way over, knowing Yanli's reputation for being gracious and kind.
As Madam Lan approached, she and Yanli exchanged warm greetings. "It's such a coincidence to see you here," Madam Lan said with a smile.
"We were just about to grab some snacks for the children. Would you like to join us?"
Madam lan agreed, and they soon found a cozy spot in the mall's food court. The twins, delighted by the promise of treats, bounced eagerly as they followed Yanli and Madam Lan to a table.
Madam Lan watched the children with a motherly fondness, her gaze softening as she observed them. As she looked closer, a striking resemblance between the twins and her youngest son, Wangji, caught her attention. The resemblance was so uncanny that it left her momentarily speechless.
Jingyi, always the mischievous one, climbed onto Madam Lan's lap with a cheeky grin. "Hello, Grandma!" he chirped, making Madam Lan's heart melt. She wrapped her arms around him, cooing and hugging him affectionately.
"Such a sweet child," Madam Lan said, her voice tinged with both admiration and confusion. As she looked at Jingyi, she couldn't shake the feeling that he bore a strong resemblance to her son Wangji.
Her thoughts raced. Had Wangji been involved in a secret affair? Was this child somehow connected to their family in a way she hadn't known? The more she looked at Jingyi and his twin brother Shizhu, the more questions surfaced. Shizhu, in particular, seemed to be a carbon copy of Wangji, not just in appearance but also in his demeanor and attitude.
As Madam Lan tried to process these thoughts, Yanli noticed her silence. "Is something wrong?" Yanli asked, her voice laced with concern.
Madam Lan shook her head, forcing a smile. "No, nothing at all. It's just... this resemblance is striking. It's almost like looking at Wangji when he was young."
Yanli's eyes widened slightly, sensing the gravity of the situation. "Wangji? Are you sure?"
Madam Lan nodded slowly. "Yes, it's quite uncanny. It makes me wonder if there's something I should know."
As the two women continued their conversation, Jingyi and A-Yuan enjoyed their snacks, completely oblivious to the undercurrent of mystery swirling around them. Their laughter and chatter filled the food court, bringing a touch of lightness to the tense atmosphere.
The day wore on, and eventually, Yanli and Jin Ling gathered the children and prepared to head home. Madam Lan watched them leave, her mind still occupied with the unsettling discovery. She was determined to get to the bottom of this, knowing that understanding the truth was essential for both her family and the Jiang family.
As the afternoon sun began to wane, Madam Lan made her way back to her own family's estate, her thoughts consumed by the resemblance between the children and Wangji. She knew she would have to discuss this with her husband, Lan Qiren, and figure out what steps to take next. The questions about the children's origins and their connection to Wangji were not something she could ignore.
The day had been full of unexpected twists, and as Madam Lan pondered the events, she realized that the upcoming gala might hold the answers she sought. The answers that would reveal the full extent of the connection between the twins and her family, and perhaps even unravel secrets that had long been kept hidden.
