Working on a night shift was hard, but having Hanni next to me probably made things so much better because hello? It's Hanni we're talking about. She's a very silly girl.

But what did not make things better was that the Kang's were still here. It was nearly closing time and they were all still laughing at the end of the cafe. "Do they usually stay around for that long?" I asked as my eyes once again connected with those cold ones of Haerin, which scared the living hell out of me.

"They kind of like to enjoy their time here at the cafe, they usually stay until it closes. I don't really know why they do that." Karina said as she was still here with us. "Very weird." Hanni said and I nodded.

I tried my best to look busy throughout the day but my eyes didn't seem to stop connecting with those of Haerin. It was starting to freak me out. Her eyes seemed to try and get into my damn soul and suck the life out of me. It was so weird.

Not even the guys back at home would give me the creeps as Haerin does. And they're men, men are always the worst.

"Karina, does Haerin usually...stare?" I asked and Karina nodded. "She's usually just looking around. She never means to freak anyone out." Karina said shrugging. "They're all usually like that actually, they just try to avoid looking at anyone." She said and I gave her a nod, still feeling a little freaked out. "Don't freak out, you both are new faces to Haerin and the rest of them." Karina continued and it eased me a bit.

It made sense, I would probably stare down at someone I've never seen before at a place that I'm usually at. Or maybe not, that's a tad bit creepy isn't it? Whatever.

"And how are we supposed to kick them out without making them think we're kicking them out?" Hanni asked and Karina shook her head as she laughed. "They should be leaving anytime soon." Karina said as she looked at her watch.

But then the door was opened harshly and all three of us turned to look at the group of very tall people that entered the cafe. "Jake, you know it's closing time." Karina said as she stood up. "You know them?" Hanni asked as we both eyed the freaking giants that were walking around with simple T-shirts in this freezing weather.

"Yes, those are the Kim's. And oddly very familiar to the Kang's, not all are actually blood-related. Do you see the tattoo?" Both me and Hanni so very not discreetly squinted our eyes and saw the clear tattoos on their arms. "Those are like a symbol that shows that they're like a group of people, so if you see that tattoo anywhere else then that means they're part of that family." Karina said.

"Sorry, Karina. But I've heard that we have visitors in town." The guy named Jake said as he looked at the Kang's table. "And we'd like some hot chocolate before you guys close, and we'll get out of your hair after." He said, pushing the guy next to him forward. And the three girls behind them pushed each other around playfully as well.

"The other guy is Heesung, and the girl with short black hair is Yujin, and then the one next to her with the most muscles is Minji, and then the youngest is Hyein who's actually Minji's younger sister." Karina said, standing up and going behind the counter. Not sure if that's allowed but oh well.

"They wrecked the cafe two years ago, no one really knows what happened as we were all threatened out. But the Kang's and Kim's seem to have this type of dislike for each other. And no one really knows why. The Kim's are never the type to start problems or even are around this part of town at all but when the Kang's are around it's like all hell breaks loose." Karina said as she started to prepare the hot chocolate.

I watched as the girl named Minji stood up and headed to the counter, and Karina was damn right. She wasn't just muscular as fuck, but also very tall. Her arms flexed as she reached out to hand some money over to pay with. "Hanni?" I gestured for her to take the money and Hanni was turning red the moment they locked eyes.

Oh no, not this!

As Hanni gave her back some change, Karina was done and turned around to get a tray but the freakishly large woman spoke up. "Give me the tray and I'll take it to them." She said with a soft smile and Karina wasn't one to go back and forth so she agreed.

Karina handed her the tray and the woman left with it. "She's the only one with the calmest demeanor out of that whole group, very kind and sweet. She's actually one of the new ones along with her sister that the Kim's took in last year." And my eyebrows furrowed.

What's with all of this taking in?

My eyes' attention was caught when I saw that the Kang's were standing up and getting ready to leave. Haerin was the one to come to the counter with money in hand. And to my surprise, she just placed it down on the counter. "The change is yours." She said to both me and Hanni and she joined the group as they walked out, stopping by the Kim's table.

"Stay out of trouble, mutts." Said San with a mocking smile, Jake shook his head trying his best to ignore the insult. I looked at Karina and she shrugged. "No one really knows why the Kang's always call them mutts." Karina whispered. We only watched as Jake stood up and pushed San back.

Heesung stood up and pushed Jake back. "Calm down! And you, get out of here, this town isn't for you." Heesung said and all three of us just stood there watching. Yujin was quick to stand up as well, facing off with Yunjin.

"Guys!" Karina yelled which caused all of them to look at her. "Take that fight outside, I won't let you guys destroy this place for a second time around." She said and they looked back at each other.

"Stay up in the forest and don't come back down here, this town isn't big enough for the both of us." Jake said and San tried to hold back a punch. "Don't, you're gonna cause him to break loose. Let's just get out of here." Haerin said and I furrowed my eyebrows, what the hell did she mean?

San pushed past Jake and the group followed behind him. Yunjin and Yujin still trying to face off. "Yujin, enough!" It was Jake as he sat back down. "Be careful, mutt. It's very cold outside, and you know who the cold belongs to." Was all that Yunjin said as she shoved her shoulder harshly and went to the group that waited for her at the door.

Haerin's eyes looked at my own briefly, before she turned away to leave first.

Karina let out a sigh as she looked over at the table where Jake sat. "Come on, we have to tell Taehyung they're back in town." Heesung said and the rest of the group were quick to start getting up.

Minji was the one to come to the counter and hand Hanni a good amount of tip. Hanni was blushing hard and I just couldn't believe her. We watched as they left and Karina spoke up. "I don't know how they walk around with nothing but T-shirts." Karina said and I nodded.

There was a weird sensation in my chest, and it all began with Haerin.
