Danielle
Days turned into weeks, and weeks into two months, and my relationship with Haerin only became stronger as the days went by.
Things with the Superiority seemed to have calmed down. I was able to spend time with Hanni a lot more now as the Kang's have opened the door for her. Of course, Minji followed along like a lost puppy.
And Haerin well, everything was just amazing. Her emotions are so deep, almost story like, maybe even more than that as well. And I feel like I've found the one. It just felt so right with her.
But there was one thing that wasn't right. My period hasn't started and it's been two months.
I was in the bathroom, utter confusion plastered on my face as I tried to figure out the possible possibilities of why my period wouldn't come around. And they all came down to one single reason.
I looked back down and didn't see a single drop of blood, my period would've been dropping by now. But there's no sign of it. Like zero signs. If anything, I've been feeling, fatter? And I'm definitely eating for like a whole family.
And that's not good.
"Are you sure you can't get me pregnant?" I asked Haerin who looked at me as if I was crazy. "Yes? We're not able to reproduce after certain time." She said as she came to the bathroom. "I'm sure it's a failure in your system." She said and I smacked her arm as I stood up and pulled my panties and pants up.
So insensitive. She made deep topics sound so bland. She gave it that 'bleh.' And what does she know? She doesn't go through these monthly pains!
"What do you know? You have a dick and don't go through periods." I said and Haerin smiled at me, bringing me into a hug and kissed my cheek softly. "Well, I'm sorry if my words were offensive." She said and I could only melt against her as she showed me that toothy smile that I seemed to love so much.
Haerin is truly majestic and no one can deny that. From the way her skin sparkles to the way her eyes turn a lighter shade of gold. Almost a hazelnut color. Everything about her is just, wow.
"But like seriously, are you sure?" I asked again and she gave me a confident nod. "I'm highly sure." She said as she waited for me to wash my hands. Waiting for the moment to drag me back to bed and cuddle.
"I swear, I only asked you if I could—you know—just because maybe you'd be against it? I didn't want to do something without asking for your consent first." She said and I let out a sigh as I looked down.
Trying my best to ignore the possibilities. And I'm highly sure that it can't happen. The nature in all of this won't allow it, right?
Haerin is practically a sixty years old woman—okay, let's ignore that part. But you get what I mean, she has no possible way of still reproducing and getting me pregnant. There's just no way.
And as Haerin led me to bed, the thought never left my mind. If Haerin gets me pregnant, wouldn't that be against their law? Isn't it something practically impossible either way? I'm about to pop my head open with how confusing this all is.
And of course, I never left the thought alone.
And it all led to now.
Haerin and I were currently in the living room with the rest of the Kang's as there was an envelope in my hands that declared the falseness or truth of what we all have dawned to believe.
"Danielle can't be pregnant, a vampire can't get a mortal being pregnant. A vampire stops being able to reproduce after a certain period." Yunjin said and Irene shook her head. "Haerin is still fresh, it's takes at least a hundred years for a vampire to stop reproducing. And Haerin is no where near that age since she transformed." She said and I looked over at Haerin who seemed just as shocked.
"So you're saying that there's a chance she's pregnant?" Haerin asked and Irene nodded. I have no clue on what to even feel right now. It was clear that me being pregnant wasn't good news. "Danielle is a mortal, that might be carrying a blood sucking creature inside of her, that baby will kill her." She said and my jaw went slack.
Well, that's one way to die.
"What do you mean kill her?" Haerin asked as she quickly became defensive and Irene had to take a deep breath knowing that she's going to have to explain everything well for it to process through Haerin's mind.
"There have been some cases of 'half-bloods'. The woman who is a mortal doesn't stand a chance of surviving against a baby that's going to drain her whole. Some babies have survived and exist. But it's only a handful. Mother's don't survive no matter the story or how many bites were inflected against their skins." Haerin turned to look at me.
"Is there anyway to kill it?" She asked and I let out a gasp, could she really think of killing her own off-spring? "I'm not sure about that, no one has ever really ever tried to kill the baby, everyone just lets faith do its thing." Haerin let out a groan as she grabbed her head.
"So, you're saying that Danielle wouldn't have a single way of surviving if she was to be pregnant?" She asked and Irene gave her a nod. "It's only based on history and personal experience, I've seen mortal women die by their own babies, though neither or end up surviving after the mother dies. Danielle won't survive, and that's a reality you'll have to accept, if it were to be true."
Seulgi made fear cross through me. I don't want to die! And I definitely don't want to die because of my own baby that would feed off me until there's nothing left of me. And Haerin clearly isn't okay with that either.
"Open the envelope." She said and I did as told. A part of me truly wishing I wasn't pregnant because what the actual fuck!
I was just an ordinary girl working at a cafe after her mother chose her boyfriend over her literal daughter, a father that called her over and a best friend that had tagged along to join her. It was now all so different, and maybe different in a good way.
I was actually starting to enjoy my life, I was staring to like it. And it was all because of Haerin.
"But, there is a possible way of killing the baby." Seulgi said and Haerin turned to look at her as I looked down at the sheet of paper, only to have my heart drop down the core of the earth as I read the black printed letters.
I'm pregnant.
I looked up and Yunjin was the first to react to the sudden distress. "What's wrong Danielle?" She asked as she in a flash sat next to me, worry flashed her eyes as she wrapped an arm around me.
"I-I'm pregnant." My eyes shot up to look at Haerin who grabbed Seulgi by the collar as she slammed her to the ground, while San tried to get her off, Jungwon looking at me with shock the same way Irene and Kazuha were looking at me with.
Ladies, please! I'm shocked too!
"How do I kill that baby?! I'm not going to let it kill her! I'm not letting it kill my Danielle." Haerin was practically out of her mind as she tried to get an answer from Seulgi.
And once Seulgi spoke, despair crossed her face.
"Turning her into a vampire."
