Danielle

Most of the time, I didn't know know what was going through her mind. It's been a week since I've been hanging around with Haerin. The Kang's are all very much cautious of my closeness with them so they stay away from me.

We were both currently sitting at the edge of the balcony of her room. She was sitting next to me shirtless. Her crystal like skin shined beneath the rays of the sun. It was the beauty of who she was.

A beauty that nothing else could ever match.

"What's their powers?" I asked and she turned to look at me. The gold in her eyes sparkled as well. Either she believed it or not, she truly did shine.

"Our common powers are super speed, super strength, immortality, superhuman agility, fast healing, and of course flight." She said, looking away from me and down at the group of vampires who she is part of a family with. "And we also have enhanced emotions, which means we feel on a deeper level than what humans do." She said.

Which means, emotions like love is such a stronger feeling for her. And I dare say that I want a bit of it.

"I also portray the power of telepathy, which means I can read a humans mind. But I can't read yours." She said, still looking down at the group. "Yunjin is in charge of hypnosis. She doesn't use her power much though, if she doesn't need it she doesn't use it. And that's a good thing." Haerin said.

"San, that tempered hot head. He has the powder of mimicry, he absorbs the others powers but keeps their power intact. Kazuha, power sensing. She sensed all of our powers before ourselves. And then Jungwon, telekinesis. The power to manipulate and control objects with the mind. And last but not least me, spiritual possession, the ability to take complete and total control of someone's body." She said and my jaw was on the ground.

What the actual fuck?

"Trust me, we don't tend to use any of those powers on humans, besides me on you..on accident." She said and I couldn't help but smile. She's an amazing being if I'm honest.

She's very hostile, calm, and kind. Very selfless at times and definitely tends to be very genuine.

And for the rest of them, none of them want to give themselves the chance to get to know me. And that's okay, it's against their rules and they don't want to get involved with the chaos it would cause if the superior vampires found out.

"Haerin, how is it that you seem to be inside my head? Like I swear I imagined you like crazy at one point." I said and she looked at me. "As I said, telepathy. I'm inside your head and well...as I had said. I can't read your mind so I was trying to in some way but it's like you're blocking me." She said and I tilted my head. "Don't worry about it, it's a good thing."

"Haerin! Come down here and practice with us, will you?!" Jungwon shouted from the tree he had climbed halfway up. Haerin rolled her eyes. "Stay here and watch me be cool." She said and I couldn't help but laugh. She's a funny one too.

I watched as she stood up, taking a step forward and landing down on her two feet. San quickly trying to tackle her at full speed but she didn't let him, instead she threw a punch right across his face. There were some other vampires there that I have no clue who they are as they winced for San.

"She really likes you." I flinched and turned to look at Irene, the second mother of the Kang family. "I would suppose that she does." I said and she shook her head as she came to take a seat next to me. "I haven't seen her this..active? She tends to keep to herself and only talks to her brother. She hasn't warmed up to us but warmed up to you." She said, looking down at the group.

"They feel some type of envy towards you. You did what they couldn't in the past forty years." She said with a soft smile. "I also thank you for not spilling our secret." She said and I shrugged. "It's nothing really, they'd probably call me crazy either way. So why bother?" She let out a chuckle.

"I can see why Haerin likes you. You're sweet, funny, and everything that's opposite of her. It also makes you two match a lot more." I looked down at Haerin who flew up to the air and went back down to throw a punch across Yunjin's face.

"Is that supposed to be practice?" I asked and she chuckled. "Those punches are nothing. Seulgi makes them do this so that they could let out any held back anger. Plus, we vampires are very much alike to the mortal kind. We have enemies everywhere and could be under attack at any given moment." She said.

"Haerin knows the trouble of keeping you around but she still does. She'd probably go against the whole superiority alone, and she's one of the strongest vampires we have along with her brother. The power to control an object or person makes them stronger by a whole bargain." She said, leaning forward a bit to look at the group fighting under command.

"Haerin has always hated who she is now, and a part of me believes that you're making her see herself differently. And that's something I appreciate truly. I love all of them dearly, they will forever be my children." She said with a soft smile.

"What's your power?" I asked and she offered me to grab her hand and I did. "Electrokinesis." And that's when I felt it. The shock. "Ow." I whispered and next thing I felt was someone landing aggressively next to me. Causing the balcony to shake with the harsh landing.

There stood Haerin with the biggest frown on her face as she glared at Irene. "What are you doing to her?" She spat out as she kneeled next to me and started to look all over me and her hands reached out to feel my body angrily. Trying to find any type of wounds.

"Haerin, calm down. She asked me what my power was so I gave her a little shock." Irene said and Haerin snapped her head to look at her and I sat there staring at her like she was the only thing that exists in this world.

"Watch it, will you? She's a lot more sensible to stuff like this. You could cause a lot more damage than you think." I looked over at Irene who smiled as she watched Haerin grab my hand and snatch it from her hold to look at it.

"I know how to control my power, Haerin. Have some more trust in me." She said and Haerin let my hand go and placed it gently on my lap. "Sure. Just make sure you don't use any of your powers on her ever again." Haerin said as she stood back up and looked down at us two before she jumped of the edge and landed back down.

"She doesn't trust any of us around you, which kind of shows how serious of a topic you are." Irene said with a soft smile. I looked down at Haerin who stood under the sun with that crystal skin shining to the point of blinding me.

Irene started to stand up and I looked up at her. "Even though we don't show it much, your presence here has brought us some bit of life." It was all she said before she started to walk away.

My eyes went back down and they connected with Haerin's own.

She's truly the most beautiful thing to exist.
