Fumikage Tokoyami x reader - "Night Owls"

Okay so the quirk is super unoriginal and plain but it would make sense. So basically it's like Mirko's quirk but a cat. Just wanted to put that out there!!

You were a night person. You would always go to sleep only a few hours before class started, so you would often sit in the common area, minding your own buisness. You didn't really mind being alone, actually, you enjoyed the silence. Every now and then you'd hear someone walking around or do something in their room, but you didn't pay much mind to it.

One day, you were sitting on the couch in the common room. The lights were off, the only source of light being the small lamp beside the couch. Aizawa actually let you put it there, because he knew cats were nocturnal animals and he expected you to stay up late. You didn't expect anyone to be up past 3, since you had a harsh training that day.

But suddenly, you heard footsteps coming from the darkness. You looked around and stayed silent. Your cat tail swayed nervously and the fur got all spiky. The sound was getting closer and closer...

But then you noticed a familiar face. 

"Tokoyami? What are you doing up this late?" You questioned, calming down. Your friend walked a little closer to see you better, his face impassive as always. 

"Couldn't sleep." He replied and looked at you. "May I join?"

That's... formal. He was always a little strange. But you didn't have a reason to say no, so you nodded and smiled slightly.

"Sure."

"..."

"..."

Well, that's akward. You sat there in silence, before it was interrupted by his question.

"...Do you always stay up this late? I've seen you a few times out here at night."

"Yeah. Once it starts to get dark I suddenly get an overwhelming dose of energy and just can't seem to fall asleep." He nodded at your explanation and seemingly thought of a theme to talk about. He wasn't ever much of a talker, but with you he was... different? It wasn't that big of a difference, but it was noticable enough for you to see. You decided it's your time to talk.

"Doesn't Dark Shadow get all agressive in the dark?" You furrowed your eyebrows a little in confusion. He crossed his arms over his chest, leaning against the backrest of the couch, avoiding eye contact.

"She's asleep." ...She sleeps? Well, I guess that would kinda make sense... in a way...? You were so confused, but didn't question it. It seems like there's a lot you don't know about him yet...

He took out his phone and started typing something. You secretly peeked into it and noticed...

'How to start a conversation' Oh. That's... sad but somewhat funny. You smiled to yourself, realising he just wants to talk.

"..." You wanted to start a conversation but, well, you weren't one of those who talk much either... That makes it even more akward. So you both just sit there in silence, unsure what to say.

"If you were a number, what would it be?" You just blurted out the most random question you could think of... Surprisingly, he answered right away.
