Snowflakes were falling down, covering last visible inches of dark green grass beneath. It was the end of November and snow has come early this year.

I was sitting on the corner of our white leather couch, a coverall blanket thrown over my feet while soothing fireplace crackling noises murmured in my ear.

Quiet days and peaceful nights are always the best part of thanksgiving holidays.

"Here you go, baby." Alexander handed me my cup of herbal tea.

"Thank you."
I carefully held the hot mug, glancing at him, taking in every inch of what my eyes were seeing while he scooted next to me.

A thin white sweater looked everything but plain on his wide shoulders, sleeves rolled up a little and those dark blue jeans just suited him so well.

He gives me solace. I can't really explain it.

Meeting him was the best thing that happened to me in my whole life.

I was hurt by people many times, mostly men - especially when it came to potential partners but the last one, the one before Alexander ... that one struck me like lightning.

Constant mental abuse eventually turned physical and it was just a matter of time before the ticking time bomb went off.

Boom.

Unfortunately, I felt the impact of it; he broke my arm and cracked two ribs; I also had to get stitches on my forehead.

Enough was enough so I moved out and stayed with my parents until I got back on my feet and found a place.

Five months later I met Alexander at the library.

Mesmerizing blue eyes were gazing upon me from behind a book he was holding.

When our eyes met, I knew it was a done deal.
It's just one of those moments; inexplicable, amazing, meant to be. And all it took was one look.

I set my mug down on the table, wanting both my arms free to focus on my blonde viking.

I felt the safest in his arms.

"What's wrong." He whispered, my head resting on his chest, arms wrapped around his torso.

I only shook my head when he felt my uneasy thoughts shifting through my mind.
