That's what they called him; but being with him was far from easy

That's what they called him; but being with him was far from easy. Sometimes my body and mind just couldn't handle him anymore. I had a feeling that he's slipping away.

Gerald had a rough start in life and it didn't get much better until he moved to Los Angeles at age 21. He grew up without a father, which put a lot of pressure on his mother that worked two jobs, so he could have everything he needed. I met him a little less than a month before his 24th birthday. I remember like it was yesterday and I don't think I'll ever forget it.

I was at this new club with some friends before they all ditched me. After looking for them everywhere; no luck of course; I went to the bathroom, fixed my lipstick and headed to the bar to get a drink.

"A shot of patron please..." I practically shouted at the bartender, it was so goddamn loud. He nodded and started pouring.
"You know what, make that two." I added. Before I could even take my money out of my purse, someone dropped two hundred dollar bills on the counter right in front of me.

"Keep them coming." He said. I looked at him with all intentions to protest how I can buy my own drinks; that was until my eyes actually gazed upon his face - then I just opened my mouth but nothing came out. That slicked back hair, sexy smile and such kind eyes, I was hooked in seconds. He was wearing black jeans and a white shirt, topped off with a black leather jacket. He was giving out this bad boy vibe.

"Thank you." I managed to blurt out. He just smiled and gave me a nod.

"Gerald." He said after leaning closer.

"Diane." I replied, sticking my hand out. He shook it and smiled at me again.

"Very nice to meet you." He replied and picked up one of the glasses. We raised them high and shot down the colorless liquid as the night has only just begun.

Fast forward three years and we're here. There have been lots of ups and downs but somehow I managed to stay 110% committed. We moved in together after only a few months of dating; we were crazy about each other. I couldn't wait to see him, to touch him, kiss him, fall asleep and wake up next to him. I was heels over head in love with him. After meeting that night, we danced together and had more shots. We ended up kissing in the corner but then we both went our separate ways. He called me up the next day, asking me out. We then cured the rest of our hangover eating a burger.

"No! Don't splash me, nooooo!" I screamed when drops of cold water hit my hot skin. I was running down the beach, him chasing me. When his arms could reach me, he pulled me close and wrapped them around my waist, lifting me. I was making all those weird sounds, pretty embarrassing really.
We sat down, I put my shoes and bag right next to me, burying my feet in the sand that was still warm.

"You are so freaking cute, I can't even." He said to me. There was this adorable smile on his face, it was me forgetting how to breathe.

"So I've been told." I jokingly replied. He made this O face, his eyebrows narrowing but it quickly turned into a sweet little chuckle.

"Oh man, you sure are something." He added.

"Jokes aside, thank you. You are very likable yourself Mr. Gillum." I said. He just kept nodding, smiling and looking at me. He came off a little shy, I thought it was dead cute.

I was working all day, looking forward to the weekend. Fridays are usually pretty light but for the past two weeks we've had so much things on the agenda so I was no stranger to bringing my work home. I was practically living for the weekends; and the fact that this clusterfuck will be over soon.
Gerald was already there when I got home, listening to music and cooking. He was making italian food and I have to say, it smelled really good. No surprise, he was always a better cook.
After we had dinner he poured us each a glass of white wine that we enjoyed outside, on the deck. Then he told me he booked us a room in Vegas, because he's taking me there to blow off some steam, have some fun. It's been a while since we've gone clubbing or played poker so I was super excited.

_____

We landed in Vegas around noon and drove to the hotel straight away. The hotel room was everything. I don't think I've ever stayed in a nicer place; when you walked in, there was a small area with the coat hangers and a huge mirror on both sides on the walls. Then there was a table with chairs and a mini fridge right next to the balcony door. The view was breathtaking! I could see all the lights, the mini Eiffel tower and Caesar's palace; it was beautiful.
On the right there were two steps, leading down to the king size bed that had an ultraviolet light above it and you could see into the bathroom, since it was all clear glass instead of walls. The thought of him showering and me watching him from the bed seemed pretty hot.
I dropped my bag to the floor and threw myself on the bed, letting out a huge sigh of relief. So the weekend begins.

I was standing on the balcony, watching all the lights and listening to the chatter on the streets. I closed my eyes and took a puff, my cigarette slowly coming to an end. I was wearing his white shirt and black tube socks. I had a special attachment to the shirt, it's the one he was wearing when we first met.
I felt a pair of arms hug me around my waist, pulling me closer.

"You know, I never thought I would meet someone like you." He started. "Thought it was impossible for me."

I put my arm on his, gently squeezing, blowing out the smoke. "Why?"

"Well, I haven't had much luck till I found you." He said. "Every girl I met was just... nah. None of them were like you; not even close."

I turned around and put the cigarette out in a small ashtray that was laying on the window shelf. Then I focused back on Gerald. My palms were resting on the back of his neck.
"You like the crazy ones, don't you." I teased him, touching his nose with mine.

"And the stubborn ones." He chuckled and kissed my lips. I just grinned back and kept on kissing him and undoing his white button-down. When I looked into his eyes, I could barely look away; it was raw and intense. This is how I always knew we belong together; never could describe it with words, I just felt it whenever I locked my gaze with his.

"Take me." I whispered to him. He nodded, kissed me and picked me up. After carrying me inside and gently laying me down on the bed, he climbed on top of me.
We didn't even bother taking any of the clothes off, he just unzipped his pants and pulled them down as much as it was necessary; if you know what I mean. We had sex and it was one of the most intense experiences we've had till then.

He was looking at me, a satisfied and hazy expression on his face. His mouth was curved into a grin.
"What?" I jokingly frowned.

"I don't know... I just like looking at you." He replied.

"Forever?" I giggled.

"Yeah." He said. "Forever."

At times like these I forgot all about the aching times and bad days. I fully realize love without pain and suffer doesn't exist. And I do love him, I could never run from him. He might be a little crazy but so am I; and we got the love... the crazy kind.
So I cross my heart and hope to die, promise to be true, always try and never lie, because in the end it's him and I, till the end of time.

If you ever felt like that, like you don't belong with anyone else but that one person, then you'll know what I mean.
