Author's POV

Fourth and Gemini decided to meet up at Sunflower Brew, a cozy cafe on the outskirts of campus. They settled into a quiet corner, surrounded by the warm glow of string lights and the sweet scent of coffee.

"I still can't believe we never exchanged numbers before," Fourth said, shaking his head.

Gemini shrugged. "I guess we never needed to. We always saw each other in class." Gemini said as if he wasn't really the one who was thinking about the same thing a day before.

Fourth snorted. "Yeah, and always argued in class."

Gemini grinned. "That's what makes life interesting, right?"

As they sipped their lattes, they delved into a heated discussion about their project. Fourth wanted to focus on the statistics, while Gemini was adamant about including personal anecdotes.

"I'm telling you, it'll make the presentation more relatable," Gemini said, his voice rising.

"But it's not about being relatable, it's about being factual," Fourth countered.

Their debate continued, with neither willing to concede. But as the hours passed, they began to find common ground.

"Fine, we'll include a mix of both," Fourth said, exasperated.

Gemini smirked. "I knew you'd see it my way."

As they left the cafe, they exchanged numbers, their fingers touching briefly as they handed each other their phones.

"See you tomorrow" Gemini said, a hint of a smile on his face.

Fourth rolled his eyes. "Yeah, yeah. Let's just get this project over with."

But as they parted ways, they both knew that their partnership was only just beginning. And who knows, maybe they'd even learn to enjoy each other's company.

Fourth's POV

For a week, Gemini and I had been working tirelessly on our project, meeting up every day at Sunflower Brew to discuss and debate. We had finally perfected our presentation, and I was confident we would ace it.

But now, as I stood outside the classroom, I was starting to panic. Gemini was nowhere to be found, and our presentation was supposed to start in ten minutes. I had tried calling him, but his phone was switched off... is he okay? Why isn't he here yet.?

Dr. Khai approached me, a look of annoyance on his face. "Fourth, where is your partner? You're supposed to present together."

I shook my head, feeling a sense of dread. "I don't know, sir. We were supposed to meet up here twenty minutes ago."

Dr. Khai sighed. "Well, you can't present without your partner. And since you don't have the presentation with you..."

I realized with a sinking feeling that Gemini had the entire PowerPoint presentation on his laptop. I didn't even have a copy.

Dr. Khai's expression turned stern. "I'm afraid you both get a zero on this assignment. You should have been more prepared."

I felt a wave of anger and frustration wash over me. I tried calling Gemini again, but his phone was still off, why TF is it switched off ? Did something happen to him?. Our efforts, our long nights and arguments, all for nothing.
