Field trip day

Gemini's POV

I stood outside the bus, watching students file in one by one. Two days had passed since my last encounter with Fourth. He hadn't shown up to college after our fight, and I knew I was the reason. Again.

Why did I always end up hurting him? Despite knowing better, I couldn't seem to stop.

Maybe it's for the best, I thought. If Fourth keeps his distance from me, I won't harm him anymore.

Just then, Fourth emerged, his head bandaged.

"WHAT THE FVCK HAPPENED TO YOU?" I yelled, my concern overriding my composure. (Ahem the distance)

Fourth looked startled, his eyes widening.

I grasped his shoulder seeking for an answer

"That's none of your business," P'Love intervened, her voice cold.

She freed Fourth from my grip and pulled him away, boarding the bus.

I stood there, still reeling, as whispers began to circulate.

Fourth's POV

I stayed at my cousin's penthouse, seeking solitude. Also skipped College for two days. P'Milk and P'Love checked on me and satang stayed over too; grateful for friends like them. My wound healed, but P'Love insisted on keeping it bandaged, fearing dust from the field trip might infect it.

As I approached the bus, a loud "WHAT THE FVCK HAPPENED TO YOU?" made me stall. Gemini rushed toward me, his eyes blazing.

He shook me aggressively, but before I could speak, P'Love intervened, pulling me into the bus.

"I won't let him hurt you again, Satang. Please look after him until we reach the field," she said, her gaze locking onto Satang, who nodded silently.

P'Love left, and I sat beside Satang, who knew everything. I'd texted him everything and he kept sending me the notes to keep up with the class.

My thoughts swirled:

Gemini, why do you always do this? When I thought everything was finally okay between us... You ruined it again.

Maybe it was always me who wanted to be you're friend no more than friendship I sought... a connection that went beyond casual teasing and shared moments.

The realization dawned on me, and my heart sank. He's made it clear he doesn't want me near, his disdain palpable. If Gemini discovered my true feelings, he'd recoil in disgust. The thought alone makes my stomach twist into knots.

Better to maintain a safe distance, protect myself from the crippling rejection that would surely follow.

Gemini entered the bus, his eyes meeting mine. I quickly looked away, avoiding his gaze.

He sat alone in the front row.

Don't care, I lied to myself.

I leaned into Satang's shoulder and feigned sleep.
