Oblivion

I'm sorry

I didn't know

that forever

was temporary

I just couldn't see

the inevitable end

behind your

wide smile

I'm sorry

I didn't know

'i love you'

was conditional

a lie spoken

in the heat

of a moment

you never felt

I'm sorry

I didn't know

my heart was so unwanted

in the palm of your hands

I blamed you

for the heartbreak

but the truth is

I threw myself in too deep

always hoping you'd follow
