Chapter 10: The Damsel and the Wrong Hands

Hello everyone! New month new chapter, I'm excited to present to you Chapter 10, I hope you enjoy it :)

December 29th, 2006

Once we got our drinks, I noticed Richard was being attacked by the queen bees, "I thought the three brats were not going to be invited since the events of last week." I told Babs, 

"My dad told me they had to convince Mr. Wayne not to press any charges, along with a large donation, so I think they'll leave us alone. Or at least try to keep it on the low." I nodded.

"Hello, girlfriends." Gretchen greeted us as she spotted us, and she and the other two walked away from Richard and came to us. "Hello Witches." I greeted them, and Babs had to keep herself from laughing. 

"It's so nice to see you here," Karen told me with a smile, and I could see that their bruises had not healed to the point where their makeup looked odd.

"What's wrong, Regina? Cat got your tongue?" I taunted. I noticed her nose was bandaged, and she glared at me before she snapped her fingers and the three left.

Once they finally left, Richard walked over to us. "Hey, Babs, You look great, Y/n. Do you have to taunt her? I mean, I thought you two would keep your distance." Richard asked me, 

"Well, rumour has it, she has to be on her best behaviour, or else mommy and daddy will take her allowance away. So, Babs and I will continue our 'taunting' as payback." I explained, and Babs giggled.

"Just don't get into another fight." Richard said, "Don't worry, I'll try not to." I told him honestly, not wanting to get lectured again. "Anyway, let me introduce you to some people."

Richard led us to where Bruce was, and a lady hugged his arm. As the pair turned, I locked eyes with Selina, who smirked at me.

"Hello, girls, you look lovely. I'm glad you're enjoying the party; thank you for coming," Bruce told us while Selina drank some of her champagne, amused at our situation.

"Thank you for inviting us." Babs and I said in sync. "This is my date, Miss Selina Kyle. Selina, this is Barbra Gordon and Y/n Winters", Bruce introduced, and Selina shook our hands, "Girls, I love your outfits! So chic. You know, Y/n, you remind me of my friend's Daughter; she's always wearing blue. I would like to believe that she'd love to wear that." Selina commented, earning a few confused looks from the people around us. 

And an annoyed look from me. "I can give you the store's name if you wish," I told her with a smile, and she nodded. Bruce was about to say something when a slow dance started playing. "Let's dance." Selina pulled Bruce away, and the pair started dancing.

"Aww, they look so good together." Babs told me, and I giggled, "They do." I told her as I took a picture of the pair. "Barbra, May I have this dance?" Commissioner Gordon asked his Daughter as he walked closer to us. Barbs realized me, and she held her father's hand, and the two moved to the dance floor. Leaving Richard and I to look at the people dancing.

"Do you really think those two would make a good pair?" Richard asked me as he stood beside me.

"Well, Bruce looks happy. And who knows, maybe there is something there." 'Plus, Bruce is better than Batman.'

Yeah, I was so far from the truth.

I noticed that Regina was walking closer to us, and so was Richard, so he quickly grabbed my hand and pulled me to the dance floor. He held my right hand on his left and his right on my waist. I placed my left hand on his shoulder, and we started dancing. "Uh, thanks. I didn't want to deal with her again; I'm sure that she's planning my death as I speak." I told Richard as I saw Regina glaring at me.
