Your POV

It was that time of year again. Your birthday. Anyone would be glad that it was their special day, but you weren't. Not one of your friends had said a word about it to you, as if they completely forgot about it. It made you mad. What made you even more mad was that your Boyfriend, Haruka Nanase, did say anything either. Sure he would forget things easily and focus on swimming all the time, but of all the things he could forget, it was your birthday. You called your friend, Kenzie, and decided to ask her to spend the day with you since Haru said he was busy.

"Hey, (Y/N)! What's up?" You heard Kenzie say cheerfully.

"Hey Kenzie," you groaned, "I was wondering if you wanted to hang out later with me."

"Oh..." Kenzie chuckled, "I'm sorry, but I have a date later tonight. But I was just about to call you and ask if you could help me get ready for it later tonight." She asked you.

You sighed and said that you would come to her house around 5.

"Great, (Y/N)-chan! See you then!" She sang as she hung up.

You sighed again. Nothing like helping others on your birthday.

Kenzie's POV

I hung up the phone and danced around the kitchen, pumping my fists into the air. You were so happy.

"You should calm down, Kenzie, you might hurt yourself," my boyfriend, Makoto complained.

"I'm fine," I reassured him, "I'm just so happy that she actually agreed to come here." You smiled and he sighed.

This was going to be a great night.

Your POV

This was going to be a terrible night. Not only was it seeming like a non existent birthday, but you had to go help Kenzie get ready for her date.

Why couldn't Haru have taken me out to dinner or something? You thought. Oh right. He's to busy to spend time with his girlfriend on her birthday, the birthday he completely forgot about. You mentally sighed.

You were almost to Kenzie's house. You looked at what you were wearing. It was a simple and nice (F/C) dress. It had a ribbon of the same color around your waist and tied in a bow at the back with black flats. You wore a brass heart locket which Haru had gotten you for your 2 year anniversary. You sighed for about the millionth time today thinking about how he remembered that, but not your birthday.

You were now standing in front of Kenzie's house. You sighed once again and sauntered to the door at the front of the house. You were going to knock on it, but as your hand touched the door, it creaked open as if it wasn't even closed it the first place. This made you freak out. You just hoped that some creeper didn't speak into her house and do something to her.

This made you sneak into the doorway, being ready to smack whoever hurt tour friend in the face. It scared you even more when you realized that not a single light in the house was on. You started breathing heavily and was about to call out your friend's name but before you could do so, all the lights in the house turned one. You gaped at what you saw.

"SUPRISE!" Everyone yelled.

You just stood there, jaw dropping to the ground and tears starting to form in your eyes. All of your friends were there. The Iwatobi Swim Club members, Nagisa, Rei and Makoto. Your personal friends, (F1), (F2) and (F3). Even some of the Samezuka Swim Club's members were there, Rin, Souske, Nitori and Momotaro.
