• • •Sukuna's sudden rush to the hospital had left everyone in a state of shock and confusion.
You had been waiting anxiously in your concubine outfit for two long hours, accompanied by Yuki and Yuji.
Suguru and Satoru had left after the first hour, instructing you to call them if anything happened.
Yuki's frustration boiled over as she turned to you, her voice filled with anger and disbelief. "How could you not say anything?!" she shouted, her emotions raw and unfiltered.
"He asked me not to," you replied, your own voice trembling with guilt and regret. The weight of Sukuna's trust weighed heavily on your conscience, knowing that keeping his condition a secret had only exacerbated the situation.
Yuki slumped onto a nearby bench, exhaustion evident in her posture as she rubbed her face with her hands.
The gravity of the situation weighed heavily upon her, and you couldn't blame her for lashing out.
She was right, of course. Prioritizing Sukuna's health over his trust should have been your primary concern.
The most crucial thing was to ensure his survival, regardless of the consequences. But why was he so adamant about refusing treatment? You couldn't understand his reasoning.
The doctor emerged from the patient room, and Yuki, her arms crossed anxiously, awaited the news.
"Good news," the doctor began, "It's not life-threatening. However, if he continues to neglect sleep, he's at risk of developing heart disease due to his high blood pressure. His fatigue stems from sleep deprivation."
Yuki nodded, concern etched on her face. "Are there any medications he should take?" she inquired.
The doctor tore off a piece of paper and handed it to her. "Antihistamines and Restoril should help. If they don't, come back for further assessment," he advised. "But for today, he'll need to stay overnight for additional observation."
Yuki acknowledged this with a hum. "Can I visit him now?" she asked.
"Yes," the doctor replied.
With determination, Yuki took Yuji's hand and headed back to the patient room, leaving you feeling awkward and guilty on the bench. Yuki was scary when she was angry.
"Y/n, are you coming?" Yuki's sudden question snapped you out of your thoughts as she glanced back at you.
"Yeah," you responded, a bit surprised by Yuki's acknowledgment. Standing up from the bench, you made your way over to them, not expecting any conversation after everything that had happened.
Despite Yuki's anger towards you, she understood how much you meant for Sukuna. When Yuji had disclosed your relationship, Yuki had been ecstatic.
Though disappointed in your actions, she chose to overlook them because of her fondness for you.
The three of you entered the room, finding Sukuna peacefully asleep in the bed with an IV attached to his hand and a ventilator nearby.
You spent the next three hours sitting by Sukuna's side, holding his hand, while Yuki took a phone call and Yuji occupied himself with a new game he downloaed on his phone out of boredom.
Eventually, Yuki insisted you go home and rest, assuring she would stay the night if anything happened.
You decided to agree, feeling too drained to argue with her.
The walk home felt depressing, and even in your blue kimono splattered with paint, you couldn't muster the energy to care about your appearance of looking like a serial killer.
