• • •You withdrew from Sukuna with a smile, "I'll whip up some soup for us now."
As you rose, Sukuna allowed you to leave, sensing the departure of your warmth. For some unknown reason, he found himself yearning to keep you close at all times, grappling with the unfamiliar sensation of desire.
Heading to the kitchen, you resumed your culinary endeavors while Sukuna decided to retrieve some extra blankets from his car, just in case.
After Sukuna's return, the sun had already dipped below the horizon. You arranged plates of soup and freshly baked bread on the small wooden table.
Sukuna tossed the blankets aside as he settled into his seat. You lit a candle, casting a warm glow over the scene, with the window offering a captivating view outside.
"I hope it meets your taste," you said with a grin, reaching for your spoon.
"I hope so too," Sukuna grumbled, taking a spoonful of soup and sipping it down. You watched, anticipation evident in your tilted head.
Sukuna emitted a satisfied hum as he continued to eat. A broad grin spread across your face. "I'm glad you enjoy it!" you chipped, spooning up some soup yourself.
A faint smile curled on Sukuna's lips, though it vanished almost as swiftly as it appeared. You sensed a shift in his demeanor, gone from his usual repertoire of witty or flirtatious remarks.
"Anything on your mind?" you inquired, continuing to eat.
Sukuna remained silent for a moment, setting his spoon down and crossing his arms on the table. "You told me you'd reveal everything in due time, didn't you?" His voice resonated through the cabin with a raspy intensity.
Your muscles tensed as he broached the topic, silently urging him to continue.
"Tell me now," he demanded, his tone more commanding than questioning. You nearly dropped your spoon at the unexpected demand, throat tightening as you pushed your plate aside.
"S-Sukuna..." you stammered, uncertainty gnawing at you. Was now truly the right moment? Would divulging the truth shatter the tranquility of your evening together? What if his reaction turned to anger?
"I already know half of it, so spit it out," Sukuna insisted, his voice laced with sternness and a hint of displeasure. He demanded answers, and you knew there was no evading his inquiry.
"How...?" you began to ask, but Sukuna cut you off with a sharp gesture. "Forget that and just tell me, brat," he grumbled, his voice carrying a dangerous edge. It was evident that Sukuna had reached his limit, and he expected nothing less than full disclosure.
You drew in a deep breath, steeling yourself for what was to come.
"How much do you..." you began, but Sukuna interrupted with a curt directive.
"Start from when we first met," he demanded.
Placing one hand over the other to steady your nerves, you realized you weren't adequately prepared for this conversation.
"We... we met when we were just kids," you started, a bittersweet smile gracing your lips as you glanced away.
"It wasn't anything romantic or friendly, quite the opposite, actually. You used to bully me, picking on me whenever you had the chance. I even remember the time you gave me that uneven bob!" a soft chuckle escaped as you reminisced.
Sukuna arched a brow, clearly not expecting that revelation about your initial encounter. "And then one day, your grandpa got into a car accident. That's when you and Yuji had to move away..." You trailed off.
