• • •As you attempted to close the door, Choso swiftly wedged his foot between, halting your motion.
"Y/n, this is crucial," he remarked with a sigh, exerting pressure to open the door.
Observing your struggle, Sukuna glanced up from the table, his brow arching as he rose and approached.
"Y/n!" Choso's voice reached Sukuna from the other side of the door. Instantly grasping the situation, Sukuna gently maneuvered you aside, swinging the door wide.
He regarded the pair with a cold, distant gaze.
"You have a lot of nerve to show up at my doorstep, Choso," he addressed, tactfully omitting the presence of his own mother standing alongside Choso.
"We need to discuss matters. I'm just as shocked as you are... but talk is necessary," Choso sighed.
"There's nothing to discuss," Sukuna asserted firmly.
"Yes, there is. You're my... brother, and so is Yuji now. A conversation is necessary," Choso insisted, a hint of irritation creeping into his voice.
Sukuna scoffed, taken aback by their audacity. "Oh? Just because we share the same blood as our mother does not mean we are brothers. You don't know me, Choso, and you never will," he hissed, poised to shut the door, but Choso once again intervened.
"Fine... if you're sure you want no connection with us. That's fine. But you can't say the same for Yuji, can you?" Choso scowled, pushing the door open.
Sukuna was about to retaliate when his mother finally spoke up.
"He's my son after all, Ryomen. You have no right to intervene," she stated, her eyes as icy as ever.
"I'm not here for you," she added pointedly.
Sukuna scoffed once again. "So now you want to fulfill your motherly duty and come back for him? Get lost," he growled.
You were about to interject when Yuji appeared behind you, standing in the doorway, his eyes wide as he surveyed the scene unfolding before him.
Spotting her youngest son, Kaori's eyes lit up. "Hello," she uttered softly, studying Yuji's features.
Sukuna's gaze followed his mother, irritation simmering as he realized who she was addressing.
"Yuji, go to your room," Sukuna ordered sharply.
"Wait... Sukuna..." you sighed, reaching out to touch his arm.
"Now," Sukuna raised his voice, firm and commanding, making you flinch.
"Ryomen, just give us a chance to talk, please," Choso pleaded, wearied by the escalating tension.
He had asked his mother what had happened, only to have her drop the bombshell like it was casual news. Annoyance, irritation, and anger swirled within him towards his mother, yet he also empathized with her, understanding the struggles she had endured.
Choso took brotherhood seriously. He had always been the one to take care of his younger brothers, and he was determined to extend that care to his newfound brothers, Yuji and Ryomen.
Sukuna glanced over to you, seeking any signs of support. He needed you. Your soft, sad smile in return conveyed understanding and reassurance.
With a sigh, you stepped in front of Sukuna.
"We'll give you five minutes. If you're not gone by then, we're calling the cops," you declared firmly. Choso nodded in agreement, acknowledging that five minutes was all he needed.
