Your heels stomped on the ground, your hands wrapped around Ace's small and furry body. He was laying in your arms, his body relaxed by the sense of your touch as you walked in the middle of trees, in an wide path.

You didn't know what hour was it, you just knew it was early in the morning. Your eyes scanned your surroundings, the fresh air filling your lungs as you walk further down the path.

Ace's body shifts in your touch, his body slowly jumping down from your arms and landing swiftly on the ground. "Ace- hey- watch out-" you say, your breath hitching in your throat fearing he might have hurted himself since he was just a kitten.

His small legs started trotting forward, his small body running towards a destination known only by the small cat. You groaned, speeding up your pace after the cat. Your feet's followed his small prints, the small body of the feline running in front of you right now. His legs slowed down, his face raising up towards the sky. His nose scrunched up, sniffling the air. You stopped before him, just looking down at his behavior, finding it quite odd by now.

He kept walking slowly, you following closely behind. You didn't know where to go, nor you had a destination so now that you found each other, you decided it would have been worth following him.

Soon enough, the cat meowed, stopping in front of a huge open gate surrounded by thick and white walls. They stood proudly around what it looked like a city, protecting it from unwanted dangers. The gates were open, probably welcoming visitors during the day time. They were made of metal, which shone under the bright day light.

Ace looked up at you, his meows becoming louder as he started purring against your lower leg. "It's..." you started, not even being able to finish by the way the city caught your eye. You suddenly felt teeth's on your ankle, flinching and delicately stepping back. "Ace!"

He stepped around your leg, trotting forward once again. This time, he was going through the gates, making his way in the unknown city. "Ace we shouldn't be here-" you start, but quickly cutting yourself off as you run after the kitten.

He wasn't stopping, you hardly saw how the buildings around you were. You were barely able to keep running with your heels under your talon, it brought you only pain. The cat made his way through people's legs and around the stalls wooden legs. In the process, you bumped in a few people, muttering a 'sorry' every time.

The cat suddenly stopped in his tracks, his tail straightening as he sniffled the ground below him. You tried your best to stop immediately so to avoid him, but doing so, only made you fall on the ground. Your feet's tangled together, making you fall on your side, probably earning a livid by the next few days. With a groan, you glance at the cat sitting next to you. His expression inspecting your body like if it wasn't his fault you falling.

"Don't look at me like that." you say, massaging the side of your temple with a groan.

"Miss? Are you alright?" a soft voice asked, the air filling with a soft elderly perfume. You looked up, an old woman with white hair was leaning down on her stick, scanning your facial expression and the way it changed to a more softer one when you spotted her.

"I- Yeah i'm okay..." you muttered, slowly standing up, straightening your ruined dress as you massaged your side.

"It doesn't look like it." the old lady commented, a soft chuckle escaping her thin crusty lips. You smiled softly at her words, not meant as a harm or a offense, just a simple statement. "Well yeah, you aren't completely wrong after all." you admitted.

The old lady smiled, looking down at Ace standing in between your legs. "Oh, look who came back home." your brows suddenly knit together, your head tilting on the side confused. Did she just say home?

"Home?" you repeated, glancing down to the black kitten and then back up to the old lady. "You understood correctly my dear. This kitten is the son of the royal cat owned by the guardian of this town," she rose her hand slowly, the tip of her wrinkled fingers pointing to what it looked like a huge temple after a long set of stairs. "Riuji Kimura."

You glanced behind you, inspecting how the temple colors and its towers contrasted with the blue sky around it. "Guardian of this town...?" you murmured to yourself, the old lady somehow hearing your internal blunter.

"The Kimura family is known for being the guardian of the dragon's souls. There are a few temples spread around the world, every one of them owned by a Kimura family member. In that temple are currently living Riuji and his wife. He had a daughter, but she was sealed away from this city at a young age." she explains, your eyes returning on her small ones. "What do you mean by sealed away?" you asked, your voice laced with a hint of curiosity.

The old lady sighed again, her eyes closing softly this time. "She was powerful, she had a strength that could have transformed in something much bigger. Riuji saw the potentials in her, he knew that she was destined to be the successor of the golden dragon flakes crown. So to help her, he made her train with one of his dearest friends, Silva Zoldyck." your eyes shot open, a bubbling sensation forming in the pit of your stomach at the simple hearing of that name. Though it wasn't a pleasant sensation, it was more of a suppressed anger towards the Zoldycks.

Your mind rushed quickly, not understanding who was this mysterious girl who was trained by your father, or at least, the man you grew calling father.. "Miss, i don't want to doubt your explanations but i can assure you that me, and my sister, Alluka, are the only female family members of the Zoldycks. I never saw someone entering the mansion, and even less exiting it without being our butlers."

The old lady's eyes widen, her eye lids lifting, revealing a sweet green color around her small pupil. She then softly inhaled air, her wrinkled hand passing over her face. Once her small hand returned on her stick, her eyes lingered closed for a few moments. "What's your name?"

"Y/N Zoldyck." to the mention of your name, her lips thinned, her eyes still wide as she scanned you closely.

"You came back?" she asked, her smaller body looking up at your taller one. "What do you mean, m'am? I've never been here befo-"

"No," she cut you off, her eyes suddenly filling with tears, brining you more confusion than before. The sun above the city shone in her delicate pupils, making it clear that something about this argument was opening a wound in her past. "You just don't remember anything about what happened."

Your brows knit together, on your face there was clear confusion. "I don't remember what?" you asked, your voice laced with a questioning tone. Her thin lips curved up, giving you a gentle and kind smile as she stepped back, bringing her stick with her. "That's not my story to tell."

You stared at her as her small feet's turned around. "M'am i want to know-"

"Go to the temple. You'll find your answers." she simply says. Your (E/C) eyes shined under the sun light, confusion spread over your face as you slowly turned on your heels. Your eyes connected with the temple, even if it looked more like a castle, at the top of a long and wide, white staircase.

"What...?" you murmured to yourself, spinning back towards the woman but find her gone. "M'am?" you look around, your eyes scanning your surroundings.

Your shoulders slumped forward, your attempt in clearing your doubt without doing irruption in someone's else's clearly inane.
That meant there was only one way left to know what was the old lady wondering about, and that only way, was going to the Dragon's Soul's temple.

(¡sorry for the delay!😓)
